Default my hermes

Hi,
Need some advise please. I am currently using royal mail, but noticed an increase in items not received. The items are not tracked but have proof of postage and can make a claim. I am thinking of going over to my hermes as they have tracking and may reduce the claims. Is there a quick way of dealing with 10/20 parcels a day without inputting the same information in to my hermes form, apart from the customers address. Do i use my ebay returns address and not my own before taking to the parcel shop. Thanks in advance.

In terms of inputting the same information into MyHermes, you can set 'defaults' in their settings section.

In terms of customers address, I used to export orders from PayPal, then copy and paste them into a pre-formatted CSV file which I would then import into MyHermes, Pay, Print labels, done. (This may sound a little complicated, but its one of those things better demonstrated than said, but really easy to do).

If you have growth potential in the niche your in, you may consider getting a shipping management software, which has Royal Mail/MyHermes integrated into their platform. That way as soon as orders come into ebay, you can pay/print them right from the shipping software.

Hope that helps.

I haven't risked that - linking multiple ebay to one hermes.

If you really want to do that, just open a new hermes for each ebay account, not too difficult.

I have 10 accounts liked to one Parcel2Go Account.

10 linked to another.

10 linked to another and the last 10 linked to another.

Been operating this for 18 months and haven't lost a single account yet.

I like parcel2go not least because a couple of shops within walking distance of us are drop off/collection points for some of the courier services they use. I saw a woman in the post office one day posting off about 30 small parcels with a queue building behind her, especially for busy days like that p2g are a great option.

where delivered GOD knows took it home listed on ebay or amazon!

this happen twice with me as customer claim its delivered but when checked CCTV they yes comes outside and sign it and goes away without deliver

to report this matter to customer service 40 min hold on call

Actually I don't have any of my accounts linked automatically with P2G but it is an option worth considering, so far I just use them as and when for convenience. Another of our local shops has also started offering Amazon drop offs and collections now as well. Our local shopping centre has Amazon drop off/collect boxes as well in the form of a kiosk that can be worked by activating a keypad.

Inpost also have a bank of drop off boxes outside a convenience store that can be reached via a car journey. The idea with these boxes is supposed to be that a bar code on the label can be scanned and then the correct sized box is opened. This method of using the boxes has only ever worked once for me, ever since then I have to type in the mixtures of letters and numbers from the barcode onto a keypad and then a door to an appropriately sized locker opens. Inpost do seem to be a bit on the slow side with their collections and updating the details on the P2G website.

I can agree with e2free about MyHermes being a bit on the slow side as well, but, they can be very useful for deliveries/returns from the Highlands and Islands of the far flung reaches of Scotland.

I have been using myhermes for ages, no problem at all. Every minor issue they have is expected with any courier service including royalmail, PLUS claiming is as easy as ABC.

@play had suggested that you copy and paste in CSV and input, if you follow that step I dont see any reason why you cannot use one myhermes account for 100+ ebay accounts. I dont see any linkage whatsoever in that approach.

If you choose to checkout with PayPal, they dont tell PayPal, mr A wants to pay for order to be delivered to Mrs B' house at this address so can we take £2.75 please? All they do is tell PayPal, Mr A would like to pay us, can we take £2.75 please? In short, paypal doesn't know what transaction you are paying for, it just settle the bill and ask them to deliver to you. Simple as 1,2,3

The problem arise when you attempt to automatically link your ebay account to myhermes. Please dont do that if you want to use myhermes for several accounts.

Finally, I am not sure if myhermes is safe for international parcels fulfilled by ebay as I have noted that once you entered the reference number into my hermes and paid. Myhermes automatically send the tracking to ebay. During this automatical transmission between myhermes and ebay, we dont know if any of your account information is also transmitted.

Alot of great advise here. My problem was the, automatically link your ebay account to myhermes, as someone had told me he was advised by myhermes to only add one ebay account. Not yet clued up with the CSV option as this is a new area, but will find a thread about how it's done, so i can use all my ebay accounts with one myhermes account.

A great tip I have with hermes drop off:

I am quite friendly with them and always was. It because a bit of a 'joking not joking' thing when I would come in and they would roll their eyes etc. Anyway, I suggested to let them show me how to scan the items. Now when I come in and theres a queue, they simply let me do it myself, which is actually quite a bit quicker than some of the idiots who work there.

Take me about 30 seconds to do 20 packages

When sending a parcel with myhermes, it asks where i am sending the parcel from and to enter a postcode. Do i use my real postcode/stealth or po box, in case they need to do a return.

Only MyHermes see that information, so it really doesn't matter what post code you enter.
