dial up is the best! you need a phone service, my setup right now is At&t $25 per month unlimited calling nationwide and $7.99 per month for Juno Dial up.

You do need home phone service - unless there are ways to connect your computer to your cell phone for dial-up (don't know if that is doable though). I use home service.

Dial-up is the way to go! That is of course for stealth for amazon and ebay. Terrible for anything else though as we all know, is much too slow.

Metconnect is free dialup in NY. At least last year it was. You still need a phone service at home.

I like AOL dial-up.

You can set-up 7 different e-mail accounts without having to fill out applications. You can also look at all 7 mail boxes at the same time and don't have to mess with mail forwarding.

That and not having to worry about IP's are the nice features. The slow speed is real annoying. but if you open a bunch of windows you can read one of them while the other ones are loading.

Thanks for sharing Metconnect. It is pretty good.

Are all dialup the same speed? Always get different IPs?

So, what if I do not have phone service in my house, but I do have phone jacks around. Can I use those for things like netzero?

ONLY if you have home phone service enabled 'Dino - those jacks are useless otherwise - the line is dead with no signal.
