Default Orange Pre Paid Master Card for UK users

Whilst looking at pre paid cards for verifying PP, I found that Orange are offering their pre paid MasterCard for free at the moment, usually £5 just to buy the card from them.

I've just signed up for three, using a different email address for each order

Useful for PP and for those unable to use EP

Aren't these required to be registered to a specific address?

Don't think they would pass AVS

You do have to put in the address they are to be delivered to, so they would not pass the AVS unless you have access to the address the stealth is registered to,

but would this not be the same as using a EP generated card as that doesn't have an address for AVS purposes?

Just had a further look at their small print and for each 'main' card you can have up to 4 additional cards for 'friends and family' so they have the potential for 5 VCC's for the one you sign up for

No, not the same as an e/pay vcc which do not require any on address and will work with any that you use.

As you say if these can be delivered to an accessible stealth address then they are only usable for that particular address, they would not pass AVS for any other.

Any additional cards added to the main card have the same registered address so could only be used for that address I'm afraid

It might pass avs for address that had matching postcode, so say your business name registered on ebay with rest of address the same, missing out door number.

Yes, That's a possibility but they do usually verify by house number and postcode but worth a try though. You never know.

Oh well, just goes to show that I still have much to learn about AVS and what not, but the only way to learn is by posting and questions,

Hopefully it will be useful for someone....................

It is useful in the right context, no doubt of that.

You're working hard to find solutions, that's good but run your ideas by someone before diving in. Fortunately on this occasion it has not cost you any money as they were free

Just becuase the card is delivered to an address it does not mean it will not pass avs, Most are jumping to conclusions.

there is no saying that the card will be assosiated to the delivery address, yes of coarse the most proabable option but......theres always a but

Someone needs to suck it and see.

I will be trying it to see what happens and will report back, might be worth people getting some as I don't think they will be free for long and if it does work people will have missed out

Nothing ventured, nothing gained......

I can report back with my findings.
Ordered numerous cards to numberous different addresses of mine, none have arrived.
Instead i got a email from Orange asking me to provide 2 forms of ID and then a £10 'application deposit' before they dispatch the prepaid card.
isn't free at all!

That sort of answers the AVS question then if they require 2 forms of ID which I assume would be photo and address.

Possibilities still, maybe.

From FAQ's

Who can get a card?
Anyone can get a card, as long as we can verify your ID.

Do I require ID information to get a card?
Further ID information is only required if you receive a card with a reduced spending limit and wish to upgrade. If you'd like to upgrade, we'll need you to send us certain documents to confirm your identity. Please see upgrading your card for more information. There's a £5 admin fee for this identity check that’s taken from your card.

What’s a card with reduced spending limits?
We’re legally required to confirm your identity when we receive your application. As long as we can do this, you’ll receive a card that allows you to shop online and in the high street, as well as withdraw money from ATMs, up to a maximum spend limit of £5,000.
If we’re not able to fully confirm your identity, you’ll receive a card that still lets you shop everywhere, but has a total spending limit of £1,600 a year (up to £600 of this can be withdrawn from ATMs). The single transaction limit is £600 and loading via debit or credit card is not possible. If you're happy with this, you don't need to do a thing.
If you'd like to upgrade your card, we'll need you to send us certain documents to confirm your identity. Please see upgrading your card for more information. There's a £5 admin fee for this identity check that’s taken from your card.
Please note, if you’re given a card with a reduced spending limit and don’t want to go ahead, you can still change your mind. Contact us anytime before activating your card, or within 14 days of activating it, and we’ll cancel your card and refund your £5 application fee and any remaining balance on the card.

So much for being free

We should always read up on the terms and any small hidden words on the site.

It sounds good once you read through it, but changing the name and address would be an issue.

Apart from that, looks good to go.
