Default ebay profiting more from items sold

I have only recently started selling high value items, normally my item range from 5 to 100 pounds , a few above a few below, however recently i started a few lines which range from 500 to 1500.

I have just sold an item for 625 pounds, i made 45 pounds from the deal, paypal made 20 pounds, ebay made 75 pounds

Although I haven't done much for the money, other than list an item, i do not hold this stock, as its not my goods , but they are in the uk.

It is still quite a bitter pill to swallow on the negative, although there is a plus side to it as well.

It cost me 6 p to list the item, I didn't have to pre purchase it, so I can dismiss the Ebay/paypal fees and just focus on what I made, which is a good chunk for one item.

Nonetheless , still leaves a sour taste in the mouth.....

Fees suck in general, but there isnt much of an option, as they big 2 have the most eyes. Go to AZ and sell it there, you will be shocked with those fees.

How old is your account? Did you get any holds on these larger payments?

Pray to your god that you do not get a used return for 'not working' or a chargeback for 'not received', your model cannot carry one, never mind two or more.

Personally, if I'm not making at least a four fold mark-up I wont touch it.

Bulk of my items cost me ~£4, which I sell for ~£24.00.
Best mark up would be 98c selling for £12.99

In the volotile buyer-orientated marketplaces we endure, I'm for low risk quantity over quality.

do you only read whats suit you so you can give an answer accordingly to what is swirling in your head at any given time?

Could you not move these items to a private account instead? You will save massively if you take advantage of the offers they run.
