I believe there was a discussion in eBay forums that the conclusion was it isn't illegal to use google checkout if you invoice it after the auction and of course check the appropriate options such as credit cards (but don't check paypal! if you don't accept it). From what I read it seems eBay doesn't care as long as you aren't advertising it. Internally I believe they think it is a safe payment to use. Plus I think it is the responsibility of the buyer to inquire about credit card processing.

[quote=FA_1982;5152]I found this information that might help those who are interested in Google Checkout......

How to use Google Checkout on eBay"

In order to use Google Checkout as a eBay seller you have to go
around
the eBay rules a little.
You can NEVER ever mention the words Google Checkout in you ad EVER.
You can NEVER ever mention the words Google Checkout in the eBay
based
message system EVER.

--------------------------------------------------------------

i posted my listing yesterday doing the same thing that you said.
the auction is still active now ,i hope that it will have a lot bids.
i am selling game consoles.

"last time i mentioned the bidpay payment in my listing and i used their logo ,i got suspended."
thank you again guys

You can use BidPay in your EBAY listings - that is allowed - there is a even a method whereby BipPay injects its logo into your listings, same as PP would if you were PP linked.

The abusing the spirit of ebay emails are the general emails sent out to new eBay sellers.

Yes, "abusing EBAY" suspension letters are generic and could mean anything. In my case, upon further inquiry, they admitted that it was because I was linked with a prior suspended account. Nothing more.

No, EBAY responds carefully and when they give you other than a boilerplate response, they are being exact. When they give you a hand written custom response, you may take them at their word. They don't just "tell you anything."

Their boilerplate, canned emails about "abusing ebay" and "we have decided that you will remain suspended" are their way of "just telling you anything."

It depends on how you respond to them. One some occasions I threatened suing and the T&S guy who responded obviously got defensive and said, "Look - we suspended you because of ______."

Other times they are just feeling talkative.

My latest tactic is to just use the "What seems to be the problem, officer?" tactic (halo lights up over your head, puts the cop on the defensive to have to explain why he pulled you over) and just point out that I have done nothing wrong. This way, I feel that if my next account runs by that same T&S guy maybe he or she will cut me some slack upon realizing that, heyyy, this Modee cat really has never done anything wrong or burned anyone. Maybe he did have a point. He belongs on EBAY.

Of course if you're ripping people off somehow, selling counterfeit goods or being shady in ANY way, that tactic cannot work for you. Shady includes shill bidding and buying cheap feedback.

My whole problem with the buying cheap feedback thing is that what if you actually want that item. Ebay is being totally hypocritical to allow these items in their marketplace and yet not allow people to purchase them. I've called them on this. Of course, the response was their typical boilerplate special "don't do that it's against the ruuules" kindergarten mentality. Oh heaven that I should ever challenge your rules, I should follow without question! Give me a break

Well, if you buy something like this occasionally that is not the issue - buying ten in one day then starting to sell the next week, that is.

Ebay busted me for one, just one. They didn't suspend for it (I guess I should be thankful?) but they did warn and remove the feedback. That's just not right at all.

Jack,

to be honest, it is right that Ebay busted you for buying feedback. You were trying to manipulate the feedback system which against their rules and policies. Honestly I would feel tricked if I bought from somebody that bought tons of feedback.

Not to bust your balls or anything

Actually Chris, it was an interesting item that I thought I could use. And it just so happened to get me a little closer to my goal. And it was ONE item. Not 5, 10, 20. One. How ebay got that I was "buying feedback" from that is beyond me.

EBAY has ways to read your mind unless you stay at least two feet away from your monitor and wear a shielded cone hat made of aluminum foil.

I think perhaps the Google Checkout word is starting to get out. Hopefully Paypal will soon just be "one of the options" soon.

LOL Modee. So what happened to the magic 8-ball they were using before?

Unhappy bad News guys

i just received an email from Google Checkout team stating:

We are unable to verify the account information provided during the
signup
process. Although you may still accept and charge new orders at this
time,
you must provide some additional information before you can receive any
future payouts.

Please photocopy/scan the following documents within five business
days:

1. The front and back of the credit or debit card you used to sign up.
For security purposes, please conceal the first 12 digits of your card
number, leaving only the last 4 digits visible.
2. The front of your driver's license. Please ensure it is a clear and
legible copy.
3. Proof of address for each address entered in your Google Checkout
merchant account. Acceptable forms of proof of address include the
following:

-driver's license with matching address
-bank statement
-credit card bill
-water, phone or other utility bill
-business license

4. The original supplier invoices/receipts for the following order:

Order # 234962017967099

The invoices must contain order details and your supplier's phone
number.

In addition, we noticed that the bank account you provided for Google
Checkout is related to a virtual money service.

At this time, Google Checkout does not support the use of bank accounts
that are related to virtual money services.
