I performed a charge on Oct 23 and the payout happened on Oct 25. Its now Oct 26 and it has not hit my bank yet. I'm sure it take a few days for the money to hit the bank.

I actually did a $1.00 test because I am new to Google checkout. I have been using PayPal and need to start using other methods of receiving payments. That is actually a good question. "When to ship out the item". I would assume once its in you Google account? It may take 5 days to see it in you bank. I don't think customers would like to wait that long. Maybe others can comment on this?

I see that the ssn requirement on google is now optional with a $500 a month limit on payout. Looks like someone got a few too many complaints or lack of signups. Has anyone been successful in simply faking their ssn on google checkout?

Google needs to stop being evil before people want to sign up with them again.

I just crossed a major amount of money point for me through Google Checkout. They are the best. Everyone knows the name Google. No one has given anything a second thought after winning an auction of mine. Also what I like about Google Checkout is it gives your business a very professional look. PayPal is too consumer end oriented, unlike Google

Default Listing question/google checkout

I just signed up for Google Checkout. When I go to list an item, i check payment options as money orders/personal checks but I see there's another option for merchant account. From what I've read...if i check this I will be asked to fax merchant account for approval...is this right? If so, how do i let people know that I accept visa/master etc. Just state it in the description? Obviously leaving "google checkout" out. Anyone know of an auction I can look at that has this type of payment option??? Again...thanks so much!

As far as accepting payments you have to accept paypal when you list...you can send the buyer an invoice before they are able to pay with paypal or refund them and tell them to use google checkout, but I wouldn't let ebay know your using google checkout as it is on their list of merchant accounts not permitted on the site.

when I list I always have an option for merchant account and it makes me choose paypal or merchant account (or both) I also state merchant account in my description.

I just sold 2 items without using paypal? I know that google checkout is not permitted but I was wondering if I could check the "merchant account" as a payment option or not? If that would lead to them asking me to fax merchant account info for approval.

Won't buyers argue that your auction says it accepts paypal but you send them a google invoice instead?? I can almost guarantee it.

definitely! You can only post you accept payment through merchant account, thats what I do and I STILL have buyers who don't read or pay attention and want to pay via paypal....sometimes I will accept and other times I insist on google checkout.

What I have started to do is have both paypal and the merchant account as an option, and as soon as an auction ends offer the customer a discount to use the merchant account via invoicing stating that paypal fees are much higher, and you can save by using the merchant account. This may not work for everybody but it does for me.
