eBay Suspended & PayPal Limited Forums - New UK Seller VAT Requirement?

Amazon required: Your account may be interrupted
The Uk Finance Bill 2018 is expected to become law in March 2018. The Bill will require Amazon Marketplace to block non-UK sellers who store goods in the Uk from selling through Amazon.co.uk if the seller does not comply with its UK Vat registration requirements. We recommend that you upload your UK VAT number in Seller Central before March 5th 2018 to ensure smooth functioning of your account.

I'm a household business located outside the EU and I ship my product from US to UK. Do I need to provide VAT number or my account will be suspended this due to this? I've read around many topics and also searched on HRMC website but still can't figure out how to get this number, or if I need to provide it.
Could anyone give me advice, please?

I think it depends weather you are the importer or your customers are the importer. Do you do FBA or do you ship the items directly to the customer from abroad?

I do FBM, I ship the shipment from US. Do I need to register a VAT number ? Thank you!

If you ship the goods from the US directly to the customer, the the customer is considered the importer and has to pay import duties which includes VAT.

So you don't have to register a UTR (VAT) number.

UTR number and VAT number are completely different things.

As you don't store the goods in the UK, I would say no pal.

Unless you have items in the UK already and your shipping from the UK to the UK then you don't need to register for VAT

So no you do not need to be VAT registered in this case
