Is a Business license the same as getting a EIN number or registering a LLC?
 

I registered a LLC and got a Document number. Is that all I need when Amazon will ask for a business license? Where would I get a business license from?
Between the EIN and LLC I registered. Could I just use those documents? Not too clear on this one.

It really depends. Having an LLC means you are forming a business, but usually a business license on its own is going to the city and apply for one and they'll send you a blue or red certificate in the mail.

Normally though, giving them the LLC and EIN is enough.

Not every city or state even does business licenses in the sense of recieving a certifcate ,especially for online sales.Most cases if a city a does one its for a brick n mortor or a permit if your selling unique type products or services.Amazon knows this.Theyve been acting a little funny lately,but they have been lenient with that specific doc request on what they accept.

This is true, they usually accept a range of different docs for the business license. What will give you a high fail rate is using verification forms that most others have easy access to. The more unique the better your chances

I mentioned this in another post.Amazon is still easy for me when it comes to the Goverment Id and bank statement request.I made four accounts this weekend and passed every single one on that specific request.I came into issue at at the secondary document request where it ask for utility bills,or business license.
This request use to be the easiest one up to a month ago easier then the gov id for me,I never remotely had issues passing it since 2017 when they first applied it.Amazon is acting a little harsher and unreasonable when it comes to it now.One of the accounts I simply asked for more information.I told them I dont have many utilities in my name and what type of docs would they accept as utilities.A Simple question,and they sent a kiss of death email as a response.Understand I only ask these questions to try to see how much I can poke the bear ,helps with the process of elimination when trying to figure out amazon.Theres no way amazons just being this difficult for everyone trying to setup an account,they would lose their sellers quick.So there has to be something triggering it.

I think they're only going to get more strict as time goes on

A legit seller with a legit business formed to begin selling will have several document options to submit to Amazon

They probably do not need exactly what they are requesting but they definitely want more additional information in order to complete verification

Its a risk thing for them, why accept a higher risk individual when they can screen everyone and only let the ones through that appear to be the most legit. Less work for them in the long run if it means less issues for them in the future. Makes sense IMO

But they are also acting really in a nutty way with the basically all sellers nowadays.

I"m not even sure if it's the update that's causing all these things, or they are purging everything.

Yeah hard to know, hopefully it fixes it self over time
