How long does amazon store data?

How long does amazon store data? If I opened an account with my real documents after 20 years? with another IP and bank account and I live in another country.

Should be forever but that does not mean you cant open a new account with your previously used information.

I expect forever, but 20 years ago is a long time at the start of records so maybe they wont have it from that long ago...

There is no harm in trying. All that can happen is you get banned again

I had an account about 9 years ago - got banned for counterfeit- I still have the same name and address. What are the chances aye?

Im pretty sure if I changed address I could open a new account because at the end of the day name and DOB isn't enough to block someone is it ???

safe to assume forever

if you're opening another legit shop you can always try a variation of your first/middle or middle/last using your passport

avoid re using any same information

One thing to note, Amazon has never asked for DOB until recently (last year?) so older data is less linkable.

I would assume forever, but my experience is that they delete eventually. I had an account about 8 years ago. We were doing ~$2MM in revenue a year on it. It got suspended thanks to some competitors and a few months ago I emailed Amazon asking to provide a plan of action to reinstate the account, I provided the email address associated with the account. Seller perf emailed me back saying there was no record of an account with that email address. So YMMV but this is my experience, could be a glitch of some sort.

amazon previously did not ask for a passport, personal identification number only at birth.
How can they rate or the same person if they do not know the personal code.

Other posters on the thread have indicated that AZ can't since they don't have the personal info.

In terms of creating accounts, I would take it that they keep data forever.

Over 10 years ago, opening a merchant account did not require any documents, only the date of birth. Everything was simple. I never sent my real passport. How can they compare me to another person because there are many people in the world with the same names. Birth data is problem, the personal identification number will be visible for the first time. I lived in the UK. Now I live in the diferint country and have diferent country bank account and business.

Wont hurt to try - I was also banned. I never had a USA account - and the only things that will be the same on my new account is Name & DOB, everything else will be different. surely this should be ok?

People say they store data forever, but remember you can make stealth accounts with the same name FACT!. They will not link you just of name alone.

Re: How long does amazon store data?

Hm, interesting, I was in the same boat. Had a suspension under my personal name about 10 years ago. I never provided them with any documents before, so about a month ago I tried opening new under an LLC partnership, but they asked for ID verification, so I provided my ID as an owner. New address, new everything since then, but my name is the same and I guess they had my birth date. Didn't fly, but they never responded that it was linked or anything, they just kept asking for bank statement and electric bill and ID, even though I provided all 3 to them and they were legit. Not sure if it was simply linked and they were sending stupid form emails back, or they really didn't like something about the documents I was sending them. Who knows... just sharing my experience that may or may not relate to this.
