Amazon Asking for Invoice for Generic Products

Hello,

I am selling Generic products and It was a new Amazon Seller Account. I listed 100 Products and after it made 1st sell. Amazon Suspend the account and asking for 3 invoices because product may be inauthentic.

Now, the listing and brand name are not even brand, it just a local customer listed products on Amazon. I am not sure why Amazon asking for invoice for such a brand which even does not exist or not even known.

If I submit them a "made up" invoice. Will this work? As these are not even brand products, they are unknown. And Amazon SYSTEM picked up random ASIN asking invoices.

please advise

if y ou have paid for your items, give them the invoices.
They want to know if you really have these products in your hands

You need to give them invoices from a reputable supplier which may not even be-able to get naturally.

look in the forums marketplace for more help.

In my view it seems the only viable way forward for Amazon is owning your own brands and products, but only in certain categories. Books, and some other cats have longevity and also dedicated fba accounts.

when selling other items and brands in large volume I found for some reason or another the account dosen't last long at all.

if it was an inauthentic complaint or IP issue then i would say to start grovelling as stated above. Which its possible it is.

But its very common practise of Amazon to request invoice for 2-3 ASINS shortly after starting to sell. They do this on most seller accounts at some stage. Some people like to call it "second verification" to ensure authenticity.

If you have a good and reputable supply chain. Then supply those documents. You can explain in your plan of action that your product do not violate any patent (if they dont) and that they are generic and non branded items.

You should be going into greater detail

Good luck

Nice point - especially with OP listing 100 items

Just to clarify, other than the first line about grovelling, the rest of this post is not aimed at OP and is just a general observation for legitimate sellers who have simply been asked for their legitimate invoices.

BTW, the issue of patents is completely irrelevant, it is almost impossible for sellers of generic wares to prove this and introducing it into any submission is almost certainly counter productive, nearly all issues revolve around Brand Registry, Intellectual Property Rights or Trademark issues and no amount of arguing that it is a chinese mass produced generic item will wash.

Just simply sharing some info on what has worked for us in the past.

as been pointed out, if you do have a legitimate supply chain, then try to supply what they asked for.

Good luck
