Amazon Cell Phone App - IP/MAC Issues
 

Hi Team,

Recently got deactivated on Amazon after a really great run :(

We need to utilize the Amazon App for RA/Scanning items, does this mean I should be buying a brand new phone or can I just perform a factory reset once the new account is up and running?

Also, Nord VPN offers cell phone protection/encryption, would that be an option instead of buying a brand new phone? Seen many topics about MAC addresses and how Amazon may or may not track them...

Any/All insights would be greatly appreciated!

Whist there is no proof Amazon can see your IMEI number through the app I would assume they can.

If it was me and I had to use their app it would be a new phone on a new sim, clearly you'll need a new number.

Always assume the worse with Amazon.

Don't use Nord VPN as well OP - overused/abused service of IPs

Thank you very much for your post!

I had thought Nord could actually allow me to use a 'Dedicated IP' on my phone as well but given I live in Canada I don't think its an option anyway.

I'm going to 100% use IP Burger for anything PC related. I just really need the Amazon Seller App on my phone for scanning purposes etc...

In your years of experience, do you know if IMEI or some sort of MAC address on a cell phone could trigger an account link?

I wouldn't risk another Amazon shop on the same mobile device using an app even if you factory reset it

Just get another cheap phone and dedicate it to the new shop

No one knows how much stuff Amazon can get when you install their apps on your devices
