New Account - Photo ID requested
 

Hi All,
Created a new Amazon account today, it let me create the account fine and log on, but then prompted me for photo ID to verify, the name would match my CC name, not 100% to my account name, but not billing address and account address. Does anyone know what prompts amazon to ask for this piece of photo ID verification? Does anyone have experience successfully navigating this? Im wondering if it happened because my CC name was different from all my other names used.

To add some more info I forgot: I did this using public wifi at a coffee shop, on my existing laptop that was banned before. Cleaned the browser and login details.

You should have invested in a fresh unused IP.

Public wifi is horrible - never do this again.

Thanks for the info, new to making a ghost account. Sounds like it was because I used a public IP, dirtied that CC and bank info now so will update.
In terms of getting a new IP, At home I connect through the internet by Wi-Fi to a router and the router connects to the Modem, if I connect directly to the modem by Wifi, will this give me a new IP address and look different to AZ?

Verification requests such as that one is very common these days and are being requested on all accounts.

Any number of things can flag a billing address confirmation request, especially on fresh accounts. You need to reduce your purchase amount, you'll have issues also if the delivery address varies from the billing address.
