Tracking number

Amazon requires a tracking number for every sale or take a hit with your metrics. However, I want to sell a low cost item with very little profit. Is there a way to avoid paying for tracking and yet not get in trouble with Amazon?

So I was reading on the .com az forums that the lower cost items were excluded from needing tracking.

Not sure how that works if they are making you add when you confirm dispatch, but do some reading first on the az forums, but maybe adding n/a in the box could work or just press the yellow button and it bypasses it?...

Alternatively, do you get any ref number on the receipt at the post office. For example in UK, there is now a ref number, that actually tracks on delivery but you do not pay extra, like you would for tracking....

or is the product dropshipped?
