Amazon Bank Account Suddenly Unverified
 

Hey Guys,

For some reason today Amazon has unverified my bank account. It's bene verified for years. I received a payout from Amazon today to it. Really strange. Never had this happen before. I have to upload a bank statement to get it verified again.

Anyone else had this?

I had a saver attached to this account. Been on there for a decade no issues. The Amazon rep told me they now take a test charge from the bank account to check the bank account owners details match the Amazon account. Where it's a saver this would obviously fail. I disbursed on Wednesday no problem, so something has changed. I've never heard of this, and don't see how they can without a Direct Debit in place. it's always been the charge card receives a test charge. Anyone had this recently?

When adding a new bank account it states "By registering your bank account and proceeding, you hereby release Amazon Payments UK from any confidentiality obligations and agree that we may send information about your bank account and selling account to your bank or payment service provider to verify your bank account information and protect against fraud, illegal activity and abuse. We also receive information about your identity and bank account from your payment service provider to protect against fraud, illegal activity and abuse. For more information about our Payment Service Provider programme and how we manage your personal information, go to Acceptable bank accounts and payment service providers and the Amazon Payments UK Privacy Notice. You may not be able to assign this bank account as a deposit method or receive disbursements to it until your payment service provider has completed required know-your-customer and other risk management controls."

Anyone aware that Amazon and the bank shares info? Again never seen this before.

to make sure you re-add and see if it works , I did not have this on amazon but several times on ebay with failed disbursement , I just re-added bank and re-verified it

amazon and bank does not directly share but they already have this in place on all service providers like wise etc. , so here it is either a technical issue or they are tightening the noose around which banks and accounts can be used

with service providers they are very strict , they force them to disclose the bank accounts where the amazon money is sent to and all personal details

Didnt someone changed the bank account of a third party AMZN seller and siphoned off $80K years ago,then AMZN started a new policy-before you change the bank account,you must know the existing bank account.
This is not going to stop an ex employee or employee from switching bank account.
But this new policy of matching account name will stop such theft

I actually received a disbursement from them at midnight, so it's not the bank. This is new, obviously they couldn't take money from a saver, but wonder if it would of been an issue if it was a current account.

I was debating adding a different current account, but was a bit worried with the sharing data bit....

I checked with people running USA accounts, hasn't happened to any of them so far.

USA doesn't connect names to bank accounts apparently. The UK from what I understand does. So like, I use my stealth names on a bank account connected to my actual company, and I don't think the bank seems to know or care its the wrong name.

Change in photoshop name and address on bank statement so it matches with your amazon account
It will pass without problems
