I'm at an expert level on Ebay; would you recommend Amazon...?

I have the opportunity to have someone I know who's done very well on Amazon to show me how to sell on there... how to drop ship and have a virtual inventory, specifically.

I've spent 10+ years using Ebay, and most of that with Aspkin's help, and at this point there is very little I find new on the forums (but I still scan them about every other day, don't get me wrong... there's ALWAYS more to learn). And at this point I have almost no problems, or if/when I do, it was almost always something I should have known better.

But I've only used Amazon for about 3 days and was restricted, and that was 10 years ago, and that spooked me and I never even looked at it or used it since. But now that I have the chance for someone who really knows what they're doing on there to show me the ropes, I thought I'd ask the opinion of those here, who are often likely familiar with one or the other or ideally both- if Amazon takes that much more work, risk, and so on than Ebay. Or, if the potential to make money is clearly on one site or the other.

Very interested in the opinions of those who are familiar with both....

Thank you!

Sell everywhere and anywhere you can get sales.

Amazon is easier and extremely boring but why not sell on it anyways?

Amazon is a very different beast than ebay and has its own issues one would have to deal with.
I myself preferred to not deal with it and have always stayed away from it. I found it more profitable to just concentrate on ebay.
But if you have the time and energy to try engaging in something new couldn't hurt to try it - its only stealth accounts after all and you know what youre getting into.

From stealth side, it's a different ball game. You have to keep up with it. Amazon are always "innovating" ways to deter stealth users.

I've seen some products sell like hot cakes on eBay, that just don't shift on Amazon, and vice versa. With your vast inventory, you'll need to get a feel for what works, and what doesn't.

Either way, one thing is for certain, your overall sales volume will increase with the increased exposure of your products on multiple platforms, so why not give it a shot?

Amazon is a totally different headache. On one hand, I say that if eBay is working, continue on. If you are looking for more sales, you might as well add Amazon, too. Just be prepared to read the guide, then spend a day reading these forums. Much more involved than eBay and WAY harder to be keep your accounts active

The profit margin is definitely better on Amazon IMO
