| Here We Go Again | 08-13-2010 06:23 PM | You will need the paid version in order for it to work the way you want it to..... |
| MadSam | 08-13-2010 06:39 PM | Thanks guys. Is it necessary and are there no unpaid programs? |
| aspkin | 08-13-2010 06:42 PM | Technitium.com is a free one.. but going free isn't always the best way to go. |
| MadSam | 08-13-2010 06:44 PM | Is it inferior to SMAC? |
| cainhoffman | 08-14-2010 11:35 AM | These work on wired connections, correct? |
| MadSam | 08-14-2010 11:51 AM | Yes they do. |

| stickmade | 08-17-2010 06:51 PM | search a torrent site for smac you'll find a cracked version, so you wont have too pay. lol |
| newtools | 08-19-2010 05:37 PM | torrent work well.
SMAC is good. You can change oid - nic card manufacture from list with matching ID
what do you think of: MAC MakeUp - Mac MakeUp - MAC Address spoofing tool
There used to be prog that change ur mac, IP simultaneously w nic
I can't seem to fine any that are up to date and work n e more.
W VMware - u have a new Mac, Hd-id and Nic - ID correct so need to spoof?
just connect via dial up or tether w ur cell or use pdanet etc..
What do you think is the better more proven method? |
| SaiJin | 08-19-2010 06:41 PM | So with Smac , you can use your onboard nic and change it's MAC, so that you don't have to buy new NIC cards ? |
| stickmade | 08-20-2010 04:58 PM | Yes you can change your NIC MAC which in turn will give you a new ip, so no need to buy a new one :-) |

Lately i have been using it less & less as im starting to just separate things with different users accounts makes things a bit easier |
| imjustme | 08-22-2010 11:37 AM | Why do you need to spoof your MAC address? Neither eBay or PayPal can track MAC addresses. They could only track it if they were on your LAN, which is impossible unless you're working from the same building as eBay does. |

Either they can't or don't track MAC.
But then I read people stating absolutely they where kicked form AMAZON for using MAC address and someone even posted the possible method they used to track it.
Now logic dictates if AMAZON can track and ban MAC address, the EBay could or would eventually follow suit.
Regardless, I periodically change my spoofed MAC address just in case. It is quick and easy and gets you a new ip address which you do need anyway. |
| imjustme | 08-22-2010 03:41 PM | That is a myth, believe me. I have a degree in computer science and have worked in software development for a very big company and there is no way anyone, unless they are on the same subnet (and in eBay's case, that means in the same building), to find out your MAC address. It's simply impossible.
If you're on the same router, it's possible. But like I said, unless you're in the same building as eBay, you're separated by far more than just 1 router. And anything beyond 1 router, you're not able to see the MAC address. |
| stickmade | 08-22-2010 05:20 PM | You spoof your mac address to change your ip. I dont spoof the mac address because i think paypal/ebay can track me by that. I no they can't.
To get a new ip on a cable network spoofing the mac is the best option.
Thats i why i do it & others aswell |
| Vicvelcro | 08-25-2010 09:10 AM | Your MAC is in packets. Easy to view on the receiving end, if they bother to look. If you hide behind a router, the router MAC is all they see.
HOWEVER - When you log in to Amazon, a script or applet executes on your system LOCALLY and polls for info, then sends it back to Amazon. Even if you hide behind a firewalled router and have a second layer software firewall, Amazon gets your info.
If you disable the functionality of your system so the script can't run... You can't log in. So, submit or die.
So there certainly *is* a way to get that info from you involuntarily. And it is not a myth. Quote:

Interesting discussion back to whether or not Amazon can track the MAC. I still have a strong feeling they do - based on experiences using same computer and such but I am not big tech savvy. |
| Vicvelcro | 08-25-2010 12:31 PM | In post #19, I said that they can and also said they in fact DO. But I may have been beating around the bush a bit.
They get more than just your MAC. |
| Burst | 08-25-2010 10:23 PM | A lot of wireless adapter macs are not changing now. Despite the use of various paid and or free programs to modify the MAC address. Even if also done manually. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 12:56 PM. | |
