6 out of 8 accounts got banned. Can not use mobile broadband to open new accounts?
 

I use Verizon mobile broadband, which changes the ip address every time I re-connect. I opened 8 stealth accounts with 8 different windows user (I re-connect every time I switch different users), different address, phone number (I use tollfreeforwarding), credit cards....etc. But couple of days later 6 out of 8 accounts got banned, no email notification or message, I just couldn't log into my seller accounts, saying password and email do not match. It seems that my accounts just disappear. This happened before when Amazon locked my account (unable to log in) due to not able to pass their account review. I was very upset because I paid more than 100 dollars for that mobile broadband, hoping that it would help me to operate several accounts on one computer. Also, there should be no problem with my stealth method, since I opened several accounts with no problem before I start to use mobile broadband.

The only thing similar among these accounts is that the first product I list was book (different title of course), and those accounts are all registered using new york address (different city and zipcode), the other two accounts which didn't get banned used New Jersey and Connecticut address. I am not sure if the address caused the problem. The only thing make me worried is the mobile broadband card, it has a identification number, just like MAC number, is Amazon able to record that number? That is the only thing I can think of which able to link all of my accounts....

Does anyone successfully open new accounts with mobile broadband?

If Amazon can record your mac number.. Then all you have to do is open a terminal and use these commands;

macchanger -m 00:00:00:00:00:00 wlan0. (this is your wireless/router name) (replace the 0s with random numbers. ⊗⊗⊗⊗ MAC)

Then you should be good to go. Change it everytime you make a new account.

And just thinking... How the hell would Amazon know what our mac address is unless they download and install software?

Edit: I use Cricket and Clear wireless networks... and it works for me.. It could be a "cookie" problem.

Yes they can.
You MUST change the MAC numbers for all of your NIC devices.
EVEN the ones that are not active.

I'm having a hard time understanding how they can do this. Even when I launch a PTW attack agisnt a network I am unable to determine it's MAC/NIC numbers without gaining access or tricking the router/network that I am root.

So how would they be able to do it?

There is these things called packets that are sent back and forth from your computer to amazon servers. These packets contain data that is displayed on your web browser that makes up the website. Each packet contains ip address, mac address and a host of information about your computer. The packet has to has this info in order to find its way from your computer to Amazon servers, then back to your computer. Amazon simply opens these packets and get the info out of them.

For more info, google "network packet." It would take 10 pages to fully explain how Amazon gets info about your computer.

p.s. My profession is Computer Networking.

Damn.. I forgot about that lol.. Could this be fixed by patching the modem to not send packets with x information?

Edit: I found it. Using macchanger would be a lot easier. Thank God for Linux!

Not a computer expert, but I have a basic understanding.
Wouldn't it be easier to use spoof the MAC address using SMAC or similar program?
I always heard Ebay couldn't get your MAC, but if it is this easy for Amazon I am sure Ebay does it also.

I think there is a problem with them, I created 7 accounts on sprint mobile card. every one got shut down within a day, have not had another problem with making accounts since sticking with dial up

I use Verizon too...I only have 2 accounts that are not very active at all but, I have not had a problem...I have always read on here that eBay doesn't get your NIC address...I also turn off my NIC card and use the built in cellular modem...

Sounds like some research needs to be done by the computer guru's...

rcdrivertim, when you say "build in cellular modem", are you talking about built in mobile broadband modem? Can you change its MAC address?

Damn, I wonder why eBay isn't doing this? even if they did I wouldn't be affected since I change my MAC id along with new IP, but still.... A lot of people would be caught red-handed.

I have a netbook with a NIC card and the built in cellular modem...I do not know how to change the MAC address...You might call your cell provider and see if they can tell you how...PM me if you find out any good info!
