Held up on the new name issue...poll, sort of
 

I have everything ready to go to open a new amazon account, but I am hung up on the name part.

I cannot decide if I
a) want to use a variation of my real name (middle first, married last name)
b) dba

I actually already gave an ein number and DBA for a small business that is fairly inactivd right now.
Of course the DBA is a business sounding name and is registered under my real name.
I worry that amazon will find my real name attached to this (it is public record)
also- can you sign up on amazon using a DBA, and never have to actually enter a first and last name?!

Lastly- for those who HAVE experimented around with this, what has worked out better for sustaining an account. Variation of a real name (when that name was listed on suspended account) OR a DBA business name?

With a Amazon account the name isn't that important. There are much larger issues to look at when dealing with Amazon. Have you read through Amazon stealth? I assume you have had a suspended account already through Amazon.

I do have amazon ghost, and have read it several times.
I have a new netbook
swaped out my router
new address
new gmail email
new phone number
new bank account
I have both a checkcard with said bank account AND a moneycard from walmart (which would be best?!)

but the name thing....

If you're so worried about the name, go with variation of your real but keep address fresh.

All the best - all my Am az on accounts are under diff names.
