Shipment confirmation.......
 

When an item is ordered, and I recieve the packing slip, send the item, then confirm the shipment with the tracking number, does Amazon send that information automatically to the customer?

I usually send a note saying the item is on its way, but I do not include the tracking number because I always thought when you confirm shipment, they get a message from Amazon with the tracking info.


Is this correct?

Correct if you upload the tracking information to Amazon when you confirm the shipment then when Amazon sends the email to your customer it will have the tracking information in it also.

Yes they are able to see the tracking number and they get a shipping notice as well, no need to message them.

I choose shipment notification as the heading then let them know when it was actually shipped, generally it is the same day

That is always a good rule of thumb to notify the customer. On Amazon it is very important to try and get feedback. Feedback is more important to Amazon on how your account is viewed.

fyi--sending your buyer a 'shipment notification' message is against the AMZ rules. go ahead and send them the same information, but call it 'order information' in the drop down menu.

weird, but it's true, and you could get a policy violation for doing it.
like i said, just be sure and call it 'order information'.
