Default Stealth account activation, help needed

Today I have bought one prepaid Prime Master Card for my 1st Amazon Stealth account. I want to go for Pro Merchant account which costs £28.75 a month. Does it mean that there should be as minimum as £28.75 on my Prime balance to pass amazon activation? Will they charge my first subscription fee immediately? The problem is that i got only £15 Prime card and "top up online" option is not available there, i will have to go to any Pay Zone point to raise my balance. Should i go as soon as possible or i can activate my account with £15 credit available? Thank you!

You don't need the Pro Merchant account, just get the free one. I really didnt see any difference between them.

The difference is that with the Pro Merchant account, you don't pay the $1 closing fee on each sale that Amazon charges. So, if you have more than 40 sales per month, it pays to go Pro. Of course, the currency in our countries is different, but the same principle applies.

Also, if your product is unique, and you have to add it to their catalog, you will NEED the Pro Merchant account to do so.

There are some other benefits as well, but these are the main ones.

Please know, however, that subscribing to this feature will NOT make any difference whatsoever if Amazon wants to ban you. This is not something they take into consideration.

yeah, it sucks to pay $40, get charged for it, and only a few sales later, you get suspended.

Amazon has two account types:

1. Seller Central- This is for sellers who SIGN UP for an account that costs $39.99 per month. This account ONLY allows disbursement every 2 weeks. The only other difference that I am aware of is that you can set lead time with this account.

2. Marketplace Seller- This account can be "pro" but it is not required. If you are "pro" the $1 fee is waived. If you start off with a "free" Marketplace account and then later decide to pay you will get this account. This account allows daily disbursements.

The web layout for these accounts is slightly different. I prefer the Seller Central layout. My suggestion is to ALWAYS pay $39.99 regardless of which account you use. There is always a chance your account will get closed within 30 days. If it does, Amazon will refund it and you won't have to pay the $1 per transaction.

Ask for a pro-rated refund. They will refund the whole $40.

Guys, can anybody answer my original question please. In addition to your discussion as for me the main difference between Seller Central account and Marketplace Pro is that Marketplace Pro doesn't allow to make some listings (for instance Electronics) available for international sales. Seller Central allows that and therefore you increase your income. It's not worth going for Seller Central account if you sell books, you will find no real advantage but for some specific product groups it is really important. Also with usual marketplace account you will have all your listings visible as follows: price+shipping costs (set by Amazon), with Seller Central account all your listings will be offered at single price which includes all your expenses. In my view it's better because is more attractive for customers, you can always focus on "Free Shipping" in your listings descriptions. I forgot about free seller account long time ago, there are many disadvantages including unacceptable closing fee. Also bear in mind - monthly subscription charge is calculated on daily basis which means once your account suspended al you need to do is just downgrade your status immediately and don't worry - you will not be charged anything extra.

To answer your original question, the $39.99 is immediately deducted from your Amazon Payments account. This means you will start off with a negative balance. I believe if you didn't make $39.99 in sales in 14 days, they would settle via the credit card on file but I am not certain.
