Item not received with delivery confirmation....

received an "item not received" by a buyer. item cost about $60.00. The USPS website sez item delivery the next day. Buyer claims he was home all day, and no one else picked it up, or dropped off at another house.

Now the address is about 30 miles from me. Should I send another item signiture confirmation, or should I just get in the car, and drop it off myself.

Im pretty sure the buyer is legit. And I receive packages from other addresses on my street from time to time from the PO, so they do screw up.

I know I will lose if they file an A-Z so I'll have to eat the cost of this one, and if this one fails to show up, I'll have to cancel the order, and take the neg feedback, and the hit one the metrics.

This is a new account under 30 day review with 80 sales, and 25 5-5 feedbacks.

Your thoughts......

Thanx

Just ignore him. He's most likely attempting to get a freebie from you. UPS always ships with delivery confirmation unlike certain USPS services. If he starts a dispute, you WILL win as long as you shipped the item to the corresponding address on the Pay pal transaction page.

If you are positive that UPS screwed up, you should contact them for a insurance claim instead.

It's not UPS, its USPS.
And it's not eBay and PayPal, it's Amazon.
:)

yes, and yes. I will lose the claim wheather he got it or not. Amazon always sides with the buyer. The good thing is. The buyer is very close to me, so for ****s and grins, maybe I will take him to small claims court, which with all the evidence, I know I can probably win.

If you drop it off yourself, he can still say he didn't receive it. But you know yourself so if you show and appear as a guy not to be screwed with, then it will probably work. That's what my husband looks like, and talks like, but odd he isn't like that. Everyone thinks he is though.
Personally I'd probably drop it off but that is just me
