Amazon asking for valid credit card ? please help

I made stealth accounts before i am not using vcc yet as i have got **** loadz of debit cards available to me friends, cousins, mum n dad etc etc

in the past when i made stealth accounts i used any debit card to verify my account and at the invoice address i put in any made up address and amazon use to accept it, now it`s been a month i am trying to make a stealth account for my self and as asoon as i put my debit card information in Amazon sends me an e-mail saying that my credit card is not valid below you can read it your self i am not sure what i am doing wrong but in the past it just worked fine i even tried ringing amazon and they told me that they need to verify my invoice address linked with my card and obvioulsy the address i have given amazon is not a legit invoice address it is a made up one but do exist...any help would be appreciated ... thank you...

Amazon`s E-mail :

Dear Seller,

This email is to inform you that we were unable to verify the credit card information you provided. As stated in our Participation Agreement, we require a valid credit card for identity and security reasons. Please update the credit card information on file for your Seller Account, so you can continue selling on our site.

If you are already logged onto your Seller Account, you can update your credit card information by clicking the "Seller account information" link under the Settings section.

Hmm - first of all the address registered to the card online is the same as the one you typed in?

Secondly, have you waited a bit and tried to list? Sometimes this is a temporary glitch.

The questions about other selling places - how much do they actully check? bascially im wondering weather I could go find a ebay seller with loads of feedback and link them to that as my store? Will they attempt to get into contact via ebay?

nobody999 03-24-2011 03:02 PM

they probably require a "token"

They couldn't verify your card because you had provided them with wrong address. Amazon uses your postcode and building's number to complete the procedure and the thing is these details must match those ones under which your card was registered. Just go to any local Food&Wine shop and grab Prime Master Card. Use any address in your area to register it on idprime[dot]com and all should be fine.

I had $2.00 in mine and was able to confirm my amazon account. I would just recommend you use VCCs because not all cards will work. Good luck!

newtools 03-31-2011 03:40 AM

yep u can just a vcc for amazon.

rsot 03-31-2011 11:12 AM

(No offense to other sellers since I have not tried their Am az on VCCs) I will vouch that Newt's VCCs for AZ doing the right trick =)

I would also vouch for FirstEd except he has been MIA as of lately =(

All sellers on the forum are reputable though for solid service.

I just opened an Amazon account last night with a Vanilla Visa Gift Card. I didn't escalate it to a Sellers account, all I did is buy a book using the card. It had $25 on it.

BUT it also has a valid landline phone linked to it, with the name matching on the account.

Planning on going slow....like waiting 60 days to turn it into a Sellers account. I changed the last name using one letter (there is another reason the name was changed). I am going to call them from that Landline phone on file and ask if the name can be changed to the correct one and if there would be any problems to use that account to Sell

Vanilla Visa Gift Cards only allow you to register your zip code, I did this online to match the address on file

Hercules 03-31-2011 12:52 PM

Time doesn't matter with Amazon and the last time I tried a Vanilla visa there it didn't work. Maybe it's changed now.

jeffweico 03-31-2011 08:34 PM

As of about 2 weeks ago, Vanilla Visa was NOT working with Amazon. I tried, and it kept telling me to add a valid credit card.

MtnDew 03-31-2011 09:48 PM

uh ohs. ya i got this today too. got it with a diff. vcc that worked before though

jeffweico 03-31-2011 09:56 PM

I think Amazon is tightening up, trying to eliminate the use of gift cards and VCC's. The good news is, they can't get all of them.

As of two days ago, it worked fine and I placed an order night before last

BUT I did not sign up for a Sellers account, not yet....this is just a buyers account with a valid landline phone

Melissa1971 04-01-2011 12:30 AM

There are a few Vanilla Visa Cards, this was the gift card not the grocery one

I am going to call Amazon from the Landline phone with some question.. the name on the account matches the name on the landline phone account so I hope that is enough verification for them to allow me to sell.

amazonian 04-13-2011 12:29 AM

Is there an updated list of cards that work with Amazon?

illa 06-07-2011 10:37 AM

I used vanilla visa from my local walgreans, works like a charm
