Title was suppose to read: US Californian's could be booted from Selling on Amazon any day now

Amazon tax bill goes to Gov. Brown | San Francisco Business Times

Apparently now they must present the online sales tax by itself so Jerry Brown can sign it. He's already said he would sign it

I must obtain a new address in another state.

My friend owns a rental in Nevada where they do not collect sales tax.

I wonder if I should change my address right now or do it later.....




Any other Californian's here?

I dont wanna be booted but yes Amazon needs to collect tax for me as I pay tax of out pocket on my items...

Changing address wont be a problem if it comes down to it as I have family in oregon.

Ok so I am not alone here

For the record, Amazon threatened to cut off it's affiliates including MarketPlace Sellers.

They have no intention of collecting sales tax as they will follow thru.

It's happened in two other states so far

So now they are fighting this but will probably loose as they did in New York


I just wonder how it will look having a California IP with a Nevada Address.

Can't imagine they'd boot me for it but who knows..

Stuff like this rarely passes in CA. Im not worried. I want amazon to at least give me the ability to collect taxes as I do pay taxes on products I ship to CA.

The governor already said he would pass it so I am sure it will pass. Only reason it was vetoed is because it was bundled in a bill with other things he didn't like.

At the moment they are seeing if they can separate it easily, put just that portion back on his desk for a signature. Just a matter of time....
