Amazon sells inventory you told them you don't have...
 

Has anyone else had this issue before? I try to keep my accounts below $700 a month to hopefully avoid a review. When I get close to that limit, I close my listings on Amazon. Several hours later, I get the "Sold! Ship now!" email. It's funny because the previous email in that account's inbox is the "Amazon Listing Canceled" email. I have the inventory, so that isn't an issue this time, but should I always have more inventory than I tell Amazon? This is a ridiculous error on Amazon's part because they would happily put bad marks on my account for a canceled listing due to no inventory.

the item was probably sold before you cancelled your listing. sometimes when your item gets sold it goes into "pending" status. you can check your pending orders by going to your manage orders, click advanced search, check the pending orders box, and if there are any pending orders, it will show up.

Thanks nobody, that's what happened. He started the order a week and a half ago and now it went through... So a pending order is an order that a buyer has submitted a payment for, but the transfer from his credit card has not gone through yet?

or amazon is doing a soft review on your account and all orders go to pending status until the review is completed

This happens to many sellers, when I first started selling on there yrs ago, I listed something, and closed It within 2min, about a day later, "item sold, ship now", so yeah idk why this keeps happening.

For me though, it was a week and a half later. That seems like an awfully long time for a credit card transaction to take place. It was only that order too. Oh well. I'll worry about it if this starts to happen more often.
