Cell Phone MAC Address
 

Hey guys. New to the forums and about to start my battle with Amazon. Read through the Amazon Ghost book and my only problem seems like it's going to be with getting my MAC address linked. I've got a UVerse all in 1 router, so that's a no go. My plan is to tether my phone (Droid X) to my computer and use the 3g internet. This takes care of the IP issue. I used my phone's browser to access my account that is now banned. I have scoured the internet and it looks like android phones only broadcast a MAC address when using WiFi, so do you think I have a chance of getting linked through my phone somehow if I just stick to 3G? Any input is appreciated.

if you use dialup and disconnect from the uverse to use the dialup,amazon cant see your network adaptor i assume? you can change the other macs with smac but with uverse your ip is attached to your network mac so you cant change it

To answer the cell phone question. Your phone does have a MAC address. I have my suspicions on whether Amazon can see the MAC on your phone when you use your phone to directly connect to Amazon. However, when you tether your phone to your computer, Amazon can see your phone's MAC along with your computer's MAC.

The safest thing to do would be to assume that Amazon can see your phone's MAC and will link the multiple accounts that use it. You can't change the MAC on your phone, but there are other ways to access the internet with How To's spread out across the forum, or you can pm me with specific tech questions

amazon CAN SEE the mac address on your phone. It will link it. I lost 10 accounts this way in a matter of days. It took them 2 days to link the accounts, but once they did they all got deleted without any notice, no login info, nothing. There is no way to change the mac address on your phone, you use to be able to spoof your mac on the old iphone, but iphone 4 no longer allows that.

On the weird side, I managed all those accounts for 5 months using a blackberry, and they NEVER got linked. No clue as to how this worked out, maybe I just finally got unlucky.
