Buy sell trade feedback?
So a few months ago I started selling on Amazon. What started as a hobby, turned into a really fun and quite profitable business. July 2011 we did $30,000 in merchandise (gross), which was around $6,000 net. August starts and I got banned. Amazon won't even explain what product they think was bootleg (99% of my stuff was legit, but a few were drop ship from sources I wasn't 100% sure of).
Anyway, long story short I have been browsing the ghost forums here with a building fear that this would happen to be some day and now it has.
I feel horrible, I went out of my way to ship quickly and always pack safely, my feedback was 300+ with only 2000 orders. In fact I just got a few more today (even though I'm banned) and all glowing positive.
Now I'm fairly certain I can build up some ghost accounts again despite this set back but what worries me is the lack of feedback. I tried really hard to get that. And it was a huge jump in sales once I had reached 100+ feedback and again at 200 and again at 300.
Without that feedback, Amazon was just a trickle of sales in my opinion.
Some of you will say, just go to eBay, and while a few of my items do sell on eBay, the bulk of what I have available for stock can not be put up at competitive prices on eBay, especially having to pay fees up front and keep re listing if it does not sell. Stuff I pay $5 to $7 for sells for only about $8 to $10 on eBay where I was getting $15 to $20 on Amazon. And the items I could get for $27 to $40 sell for only $30 to $45 on eBay where I was getting $60 to $100 on Amazon.
I guess the cost is a bit higher if you are not pro seller on Amazon, but I would think this isn't worth the effort on an account that wasn't being setup as pro anyway. I wouldn't do this on an intentionally disposable account that was setup for run and gun tactics.
I would just like to get one of my new ghost accounts up to 100 feedback as quickly as possible, the bump in sales seems like it would be worth it, especially with Christmas season coming.
