Amazon deleted accounts. They want to send cheque (check)!!

I have contacted amazon in regards to deleted account now they want to send me a payment in form of a cheque. Has this happened to anyone? May be something new?

I assume this was a stealth account? I wouldn't want them to have my real address.

When I had a deleted account, I filed a BBB complaint. This got me in touch with someone in Executive Customer Relations and they were able to reinstate the account.
