A New Thing Amazon Is Doing?
 

So I created an Amazon account today. Waited about 30 minutes and I didnt see the listing as active when searching the amazon website. I left, came back a couple hours later, and still doesnt show. When I log into the account, it says the listing is active..

So I started going through the emails I received from Amazon. One of the emails says that

"You will be eligible to start selling once you provide your bank account information"

Is this a new thing that Amazon is doing? Because I've never had to add the bank account right away in order to sell. Anyone else ran into this situation?

I have run into this situation from time to time - I have my theories and one of them is based on the state you're selling from +/- phone number.

Oh ok. So it does happen from time to time? Thats good news. I figured it was some new thing they were doing because of the holidays.

Something Im working on. Figured Id start now to try and get enough points to get a xbox 360 and get CoD MW3 when it comes out in November. :-)

This hppened to me once. I was using dial-up and creating an acount in Chicago, IL. I accidentally dialed into a Dallas, TX modem line. So, Amazon saw the IP address in TX an the account in IL.

I believe this happens when Amazon sees something they are not liking too much,. but not SO MUCH that they want to refuse the account.

That is just my THEORY. But it is the only time it happened (I've created more than 20 accounts) and the only thing I screwed up on.
