Amazon Cancelled my orders.....

So I started listing on a new account last night.
I listed 33 different items with each item having a quantity of between 1 & 17.
When I woke up this morning I had 29 confirmed orders and 45 pending.

I did the 29 orders and uploaded tracking.
I just checked the account again to see what was there....
I have 2 unshipped orders & 10 pending.
But here is the kicker.....

I have 77 orders that were cancelled by Amazon.
What is the reason for this?

I can understand 2-3 cancelled orders out of 100+ orders.
But 77 cancelled orders?

My account went on review around 8pm tonight.
I am guessing that Amazon cancelled the orders and then put my account on review.

This is a new one on me.

Has anyone else seen weirdness of this sort?

jeffweico 10-06-2011 11:56 PM

Was this just low-risk stuff to seed the account? If so, that would be worrisome.

I rarely see cancelled orders. Always just one here and one there. But my volume is much lower than yours.

jbluntz 10-07-2011 12:11 AM

I'm gonna have to start ordering up some DVD's so I can hop back on Amazon and see what the deal is, most of the stuff I normally sell is restricted on Amazon, maybe it's time for a change.

It was not low risk items to seed a account.
It was my normal items.

I have NEVER seen this happen before.
I have seen a lot of weird crap from Amazon but this was a total new one for me...

Gamefreak 10-07-2011 12:25 AM

Never seen that type of weird crap. This is xmas time so I guess amazon is preparing and that seems like a lot of orders for a new account.

shoot2kill 10-07-2011 12:41 AM

...That has happened to me a lot of times, fresh account or non fresh account! This being being shocker to you is surprising! Most likely you wont be able to sell anything until the Review is over on the account.

jeffweico 10-07-2011 12:41 AM

OK.... So this was a turn and burn account. How long do thoise usually last? Could this have just been caught a little quicker? Could be a quirk, maybe one of their smarter people just happened across it and put 2 and 2 together?

Turn & Burn
Lasts about 2-3 days
I can get 100 - 200 sales out of them in the 2-3 days.
Then of course I have to wait 90 days.
But I have never had them cancel so many orders in such a short period of time.

rsot 10-07-2011 11:02 AM

Never had this happen HWGA but I don't deal with the volume that you do - while I hope for the best for you, I feel that Am az on is probably having own agents looking for patterns of activity and yours is flagged. Sorry for the lack of vital contribution to the thread though.

jbluntz 10-07-2011 08:09 PM

I'm guessing it has to do with what's being sold, I'm assuming most people here that sell on Amazon sell mostly DVD's? I could be wrong.

FandangoKango 10-07-2011 10:50 PM

Dvds is big industry for amazon. Is that what you sell?

jbluntz 10-07-2011 11:17 PM

If you read my above posts you would already know the answer to that.

And just to help you out a little, here it is:

"I'm gonna have to start ordering up some DVD's so I can hop back on Amazon and see what the deal is, most of the stuff I normally sell is restricted on Amazon, maybe it's time for a change."

So yeah, I'm selling dvd's while at the same time I'm thinking about ordering some dvd's so I can hop back on Amazon and start selling dvd's, does that make sense?

jeffweico 10-07-2011 11:48 PM

This is just my guess... Amazon is on to the turn and burn pattern and is trying to stop it. The one thing I cannot figure out is, why not cancel ALL of the orders that were not marked as shipped?

Just a follow up.....
Amazon DID end up canceling ALL the unshipped orders on that account.
Suspended - Paid in 90.

I hope you all get your money :pry:

An Amazon Rep today said they were checking out people's credit cards. Keep at least a $5 balance because they send either $1 or $5. It doesn't actually go thru, it just tells Amazon whether the CC is valid. I found out a zero balance (from my successful Goodwill run) for just a day spit out an invalid Credit Card. Called in to have a Rep manually run it thru as the computer took it but wouldn't allow me back into the Seller account till they fixed it

On your turn and burn accounts what is the most you can make in the 2-3 days with 100-200 orders? How long do you let a account age before turning and burning them?

I really got to get a PC so i can get on amazon and start selling. My MAC is to hard to stealth for amazon.

jbluntz 10-08-2011 07:14 PM

Just download VMfusion, I do all my personal browsing on my mac and all stealth on VMfusion.

not true. i have mac and pc's (laptops + desktops), and for about 1 year used exclusively the macs to run multiple amazon accounts. without a problem.

UnderBites08 10-08-2011 09:15 PM

I dont have amazon ghost. But I thought it is hard to change your mac address with a mac?

jbluntz 10-08-2011 09:31 PM

That's why I mentioned VMfusion above, which is a virtual windows computer for mac.

UnderBites08 10-08-2011 11:16 PM

What about a parallels. Will thats work the same or am I way off here ?

jbluntz 10-08-2011 11:22 PM

You got me on that one, don't know what you're talking about with the parallels.

I have used both VMfusion & Parallels.

VMfusion has some rather cool things for sure.
Parallels was a LOT easier to use and get around on but did not have as many cool buttons.

But the very best thing is to get a nice PC and load it with VMware Workstation.
Then you are in the best world to run stealth.

I have my iMac for my everyday work. Completely separate from my stealth world.
I have a PC Laptop running Shipworks & Endicia for shipping. Completely separate from my stealth world.
Then I have a nice top of the line Lenovo Desktop running VMware Workstation for Stealth.
The Lenovo is on AOL Dial-up and completely isolated from my regular life network.

I Figure i just torrent windows, or is better to just buy it outright?

DogFacedBoy 10-12-2011 12:05 PM

At first I thought WHAT?
33 listing with quantities up to 17 and wonders why some got cancelled, but then I read further and that it was a t&b account and it made sense.
It is unusual that at first they did not cancel ALL of the orders.

I don't expect you to tip your hand to us, but you have me wondering what type of items you can put on in that quantity and sell that quickly:clap:

DoubleA 12-12-2012 01:02 AM

Yes. I have seen this happen before. They do this to accounts because they are new and they don't want you to feel overwhelmed. They think you can't handle it so they cancel the customers order, lie say the payment did not go through and sometimes they even block the seller.
