amazon-dail up -deletion

Created a stealth amazon with dail up connection
Used a vcc, added bank account(citi) yesterday, the money on the acc was going to be available on 12/03/11 but account got deleted, called support told me the account got linked,

where do you guys think i screwed up?
yes i have the guide.

jeffweico 12-01-2011 06:13 PM

Was the PC used for another Amaon account? Did you wip out the browser and reinstall it? Browser fingerprinting is VERY REAL and Amazon is on the cutting edge of it.

Of course, it could be other things as well.

Was ANYTHING ELSE similar to the old account? ANYTHING AT ALL? Sometimes it can be the tiniest thing.

Shadowmoe7 12-01-2011 07:02 PM

I am on a new laptop with new user account,so the internet explorer is clean
there was nothing except the last name on the stealth account which i dont think is a big deal i sold a video game and havent sold it on any other account.

I don't see how the last name alone could do it.

You used a different IP? As in dialing into a different dial-up number?

Shadowmoe7 12-01-2011 09:54 PM

yeah like i used the name number, but i got different ip's everytime i logged in
so i have totally have no clue why it happened
MAYBE since i was using a vcc and i added a bank account amazon charged a 1$ to the vcc and it failed ? maybe possible?
i was like 3 days away from disbursement

rsot 12-02-2011 10:07 AM

@Shadowmoe7 - your last point is a BIG one which I think is key these days. VCC-startup accounts are more chance of failing these days due to repeat test charges.

In fact, I think AZ does a test charge at disbursement time knowing their tech moves.

jeffweico 12-02-2011 12:43 PM

RSOT may be on to something. I would avoid using VCC's for Amazon if at all possible. Also, I would avoid the big gift card issuers, since many stealth accounts use them. Best plan is to see if your local bank has them and if they can be registered. MUCH less likely for Amazon to find a pattern with those.

Amazon, I am guessing, has a pool of deleted accounts. They can look for things these accounts have in common with other suspended seller accounts and ALSO to see if those findings also show up with their good accounts. If not, then they have an indicator they can use to tell whether the account is a stealth account. Once a pattern is identified, then they have one more thing they can use to knock out our accounts.

rsot 12-02-2011 12:58 PM

Figure you are right jeffweico - patterns are key. Too many folx doing same patterns have prob ax'ed well-known methods.

sax4 12-02-2011 06:17 PM

Not sure if that's the case, in the UK at least. For instance 3V is mist probably the most popular prepaid card, and I have no problems with it at all.

Shadowmoe7 12-02-2011 06:39 PM

yeah and i got a response from them telling me i failed a account review,
but i was never notified i was in a account review ( i sold one item)
they did not mention anything about my funds

Recherché 12-02-2011 10:45 PM

I surmise I've been fortunate up to this point. All seven of my accounts are still running using dial-up. All are 1-2 years old though. It's amazing because I sell only high risk media. One account was suspended earlier this year but that is all.

Shadowmoe7, how old are your accounts? Recently made accounts are more susceptible to deletion.

Shadowmoe7 12-02-2011 10:54 PM

Yeah the account was like 13 days old and i sold one item was not high risk so i have no clue what caused it

Re: amazon-dail up -deletion

Was the account deleted or suspended. Deleted is when you can not log into the account anymore. And if it was deleted when you called did the representative acknowledge that the account was deleted. Usually when someone call the no good support number the rep does not know anything about the account and cant do anything to help with the account. There phone support is 10x worst than eBay's, not because the people suck but because the features available to rep is limited to just saying "You should email seller-performance@amazon.com". Which is pointless for having phone support.
