Recent case of Amazon's reply to my BBB inquiry for a blocked account... Ok here we go - decide to open a BBB case for the state in which this blocked account is situated.
Opened on Nov. 24, 2011
I asked for access to my account stating that Az is blocking my account without reason (I gave a longer reason than this but for simplicity...)
Reply of Am az on on Nov. 30, 2011:
We ALL know this dbag response : We regret that the seller has failed our review process. Their account has been closed and they are no longer eligible to sell on our site.
The blocking of their account is a permanent action. We take such steps in the interest of maintaining a free and fair venue for all participants.
So I REBUTTAL on Dec. 1, 2011.
Check out this reply from Am az on Dec. 6, 2011:
llo from Amazon.com.
Thank you for contacting us.
At this time this seller's account is still being investigated. It has come to our attention the items this seller sold and shipped may have been obtained in an unlawful manner. As such, their funds will be reserved indefinitely.
Regards,
Payments Specialist
Amazon.com
A new generic response? Indefinitely? This is preposterous!
Opinions and comments are welcomed. |
lol that's crazy how do you obtain items in a unlawful manner? lying? |
Exactly oge - theft? maybe that's their way of accusing me of selling knockoffs? I have not sold knockoffs and in fact, my old buyers were all happy - typical Az - the key word "indefinitely"...they're grabbing my cash! |
yes those are some harsh words coming from AZ "indefinitey and unlawful manner" no paper check option just screwed what can you do? |
| boszika | 12-14-2011 12:19 PM | @oge-They probably meant it was sold for so cheap ,it had to be stolen.Of course it is not the case but Amazon is just like that.
Some where, somehow it should be a way where seller have rights. Deleting accounts and keeping the money should be illegal. How can they just keep someone money? Aren't they rich enough just from the 7 cents extra from shipping?
They must be getting a millions of complaints from BBB,they just brush it off.
Honestly I'm 31 and I start getting my first white hairs and it has to be from Amazon. Break till February. |

| shoot2kill | 12-15-2011 08:59 PM | ...jeez what have you guys been selling that cause Amazon to keep the funds!? I still have funds stuck in a few accounts (totaling 4-5k) which I am too lazy to keep sending e-mails! I'll just wait a till mid January to start email them again! Still selling on Amazon though :typing: |
| cardfelon | 12-16-2011 09:48 AM | I think that most of this is people who are greedy. Instead of taking it slow and steady they would rather just blast out as much stuff they can sell in the shortest time as possible. Then they wonder why the account is gone. When I first got into this 3 years ago I tried to operate like that and all of my accounts kept getting shut down.
Then I stop trying to be such a greedy and aggressive seller and next thing you know my accounts started to last 1-2 years at a time. Some are still going strong from over 2 years ago.
It all comes down to what you sell and how you run your accounts. |
you able to log into all those accounts? might want to verify. |
| robsut | 12-16-2011 01:53 PM | RSOT, what are you selling to get your account blocked, i have had loads of accounts which last about 6-18 months because of what i sell but none get blocked, i have had a few accounts go down lately with about 5k in them, but i can still get at it in 3 months, i am hoping i have got Amazon back though, i have withdrew 3k and not sent the items and the account is still live, only 1 more day till it hits my account, anyone know if they can still stop it, i will refund the people right away as soon as i get the money, that way Amazon lose Quote:

Sold collectibles and books - nothing "unlawful" about any of them. Not to mention that buyers were happy. |

I have 8 more accounts that I can turn and burn. Funny how everyone else accounts are being deleted now. |
Yeah...."Funny" to you maybe.... |

| Burning | 12-20-2011 07:24 PM | Don't be too quick to judge. I was in the same boat as you 'shoot2kill'. I used to assume it would never happen to me, but what do you know, two months comes around, and amazon closes my account indefinitely. How can Amazon EVEN assume that the merchandise is counterfeit, stolen or whatever you want to call it, without having done a full investigation. |
There has to be something that works - going to do another BBB complaint for yet another account and try different approach. |
| MichaelW | 12-20-2011 08:33 PM | I think Amazon know all about the ghost account and they just keep the money. There are nothing you can do about it. Can't sue them or do anything to them. It's just their free money Quote:

Perplexes me as I do what a lot here do by using plain dial-up with different browser and user accounts on my PC. Since none of my accounts have EIN #'s yet, I fully expected some to go done by now. |
| jeffweico | 12-20-2011 10:47 PM | Wow... Just did a couple of searches on the BBB website.
In the last 3 years....
Wal-Mart had 473 complaints filed.
Buy.com had 590 complaints filed. AMAZON.COM HAD 3,019 COMPLAINTS FILED.
eBay had 3,380 complaints filed.
For a company with Amazon's reputation for customer service, that seems like an AWFUL LOT of complaints! |
@Recherche - what category of items you selling?
@jeffweico only 3k? Seems like not enough folx |
eb only 3.9k - also not enough |

It "feels" like Amazon has been burned so bad they are now using a shotgun approach. Almost like the dollar amount lose reached a level and they just went hard and heavy cutting down non-scammers in the wake
Never fails, thieves will milk a system dry as fast as they can and move on like locusts.
