What happens when I request Amazon to delete my old account?

Does anyone know what happens when you request Amaz0n to delete your account. Do they actually remove it completely, or only for access? I imagine they keep all your information, just remove an access, but have no proof. Anyone was able to test this theory?

The reason I worry is because of new Amaz0n Tax requirements, my newly opened Amaz0n account is most likely fùçked anyway, so I thought I'd try this road:hail:. Don't hold my breath though.

I don't know - I have enough problems with them deleting accounts randomly - why I would ask them to delete, I don't know.

I don't know the real answer. But no company would delete customer information completely. Just put it on the side like "ban, inactive, suspend...." There is no reason to remove it.

So the question comes - will it be enough to link another name associated with this mailing address? Not as much as for new account registration, but to provide for Amaz0n 1099 requirement.

I think it is a "yes" but I might be wrong.

It's all about the friggin 1099 requirement. I have a single account that is pretty legit as far as credit card, bank, mailing address etc. I was going to keep a single one and have it evolve into a legit business. If not for 1099 requirement, everything worked perfectly, however Amaz9n requires an actual name and physical address for the reporting to IRS and I can't do that as I had a toast account. Thus far I haven't found a solution on how to get a "physical" address that is not "actually physical" and that I can use to pay my taxes. The PO box that I've provided to Amaz9n doesn't cut it as they wouldn't accept it for 1099.
