Refunding on Amazon, does Amazon refund their fees?
 

Here is my question. eB tells you when you refund a buyer that the listing and the final fees will be refunded back to you. Pp shows you that refund some of their fees too. Notice, if eB refunds all of the fees, Pp refunds only a portion of the fees they charged you and quietly the another portion, slick huh?:)
Anyway back to my question, does AZ refunds their fees when a buyer cancels the purchase or a portion of the fees when they return? or they charge you no matter what???

I say yes, because I just did a refund today, and looking at my payments account detail, there were red "negative" deductions for both the merch and shipping amounts deducted, but a "black" positive amount included which was the amount of the fees "added back", which netted out a lower amount(than the refund) that was deducted from my payments account in the end.

A roundabout way of saying you get your fees back. i was literally just typing a description of what I was seeing on my screen in a hurry.


Note, this was another one of those "oops i didn't know what I was doing and didn't mean to order and didn't realize it until you sent the shipping confirmation" please cancel!!! SMH

They do for full refunds it seems. You can check by going to your transactions and it tells you there if amazon refund the fees or not.

So is it full fees refund or a portion of it :noidea:

@ebayisanecessaryevil... at least you get an explanation... what I get is usually something like "please cancel and refund". I get at least one of those a day lol
I'm usually ok with canceling and refunding, even though I think it counts against you in customer metrics.
But when it was already shipped! Well I'm sorry it's TOO late amigo suck it up and now you have to return it to get your refund - shipping :)

They do refund the fees. No worries.

It's tricky. For full refunds you get all your fees back. If you give a partial refund, Amazon returns the 15% commission to you. However, they don't return their variable closing fee or the 99 cent fee you pay if you are not a Pro Merchant.

They do refund the fees pro rata.

Exactly - they will refund all of the fees or partial (if you refund partial).
