use autherized users credit card to register seller account

Just get a new credit card from citi bank, can I add an autherized credit card user (such as my mother in law) and use that card and her name to register seller account?

I want do that card and not Visa and MS gift card is just because I want make some purchases with the seller account. also, the citi card is a real credit card.

Not sure what Amazon can see from the autherized card, becasue both cards has same card#.

Thanks.

I use the "add a friend" feature on my Capital One card to have a real card under a stealth name on my AZ account, works like a charm!

does the credit card company ask for ssn of the added user?
i was under the impression that they ask for that info.

ovidiu 03-26-2012 02:58 PM

Nope, they do not. But the address needs to be the same, I believe, as my own. Of course, I added the stealth name about 2-3 years ago, but I still see the "add a friend" feature in my account when I log in.

I think only amx ask for ssn, not for chase, boa and citi. also, chase business card can have difference card # for employe, that's even better.

you can even give your dog a credit card..

First time to try stealth account, that is why I am asking..

It's a well established method of getting additional card numbers shuang14.

If you can get a business account that enables you to get cards for employees then not only the dog gets one but the flock of sheep can also have one each - all unique

Post code/zip code is the cruncher though

Just to clarify....why would someone want to use a real credit card on an Amazon account?

rsot 03-28-2012 01:06 PM

Because AZ does TEST AUTHORIZATION CHARGES these days - randomly...

test to see if they are prepaid cards?

rsot 03-28-2012 01:29 PM

a test charge - randomly of $4 I believe - like when you try to withdraw, they can test your credit card on file with a $4 temp charge - if it does not go through, chances are...neither will you.

sax4 03-28-2012 01:37 PM

Ah I see, interesting, better so make sure you have plenty of credit on the gift card then. Still don't see why someone would use their real credit card though?

rsot 03-28-2012 03:08 PM

sax4 03-28-2012 03:20 PM

Been discussed before

rsot 03-29-2012 10:21 AM
