Amazon Tax requirements
 

I just sold 50 Items on amazon over the course of a few months and apparently they require a Tax ID# after you hit the 50 mark.

Can I use an EIN with amazon? or is it like paypal where only SSN will do the trick?

EIN will do the trick... Just make sure the info you register that ein with matches what you will be providing to amazon. Account info doesnt matter

So what yoru saying the process of inputting this tax information, also asks for name and address and my amazon account information has no bearing?

That is EXACTLY what I am saying... At least from my experneice last year when I did mine as my info didnt match what was on the account but my 1099 match what I gave amazon during the interview process.

So will giving them my SSN show them my current address?

I can give them a SSN no problem as well but they can not get my address tho as its part of a suspended account 4-5 years ago.

What you give them has to match what the IRS has on record. You dont want more problems than you need with amazon...

can i use an ein that was used on a suspended acct - again on a new amazon acct?

^^ idk about.. idk if amazon uses that info but if your account is newish you should try and and let us know how that works out for you

They haven't asked for it yet, but I hoped someone else will have the answer before I try it and get suspended.

Has anyone used the same ein or ss for more than one Amazon acct??

Also, if you have been asked for tax info, I assume you are putting in your real not stealth info (because they do ask for address),-- has anyone gotten suspended doing that??

Well I have to change my address on my EIN to make it work and I know that is something that can be done.

My question is can you change the address associated with your SSN?

I plan on opening a few amazon accounts using my EIN and SSN, then using my Wifes EIN and SSN. We have addresses that can be used for all 4 but i just cant find any info on whether you can change your address associated with your SSN.

TO the person above, I don't know this to be fact but I highly doubt you can use a SSN or EIN from a suspended account. If they can link you with addresses and other various ways then it should be very easy to link people this way.
