Default No More Using GVoice or Vumber With Amazon

Heres an update to the Errors (2) messages I kept getting during registration.. After some more testing that I just did as soon as I woke up. I have determined that it is in fact GVoice & Vumber causing the problem. I don't know if its all virtual numbers, but its a possibility.. Time to stock up on phones... If anyone knows of good virtual numbers that are currently working, please let me know, Id really appreciate it. I wish virgin mobile still allowed you to change your number for free, once every 24 hours.. :-(

Is it possible the buying Vumber numbers would get rehashed, suspended/banned numbers? Or low likelihood?

ROFL.. Thats exactly I used.. But I was using the Pinger iPhone app for a number, then creating GVoice and Vumbers to forward to the Pinger number.. But I switched the combinations of how I was doing it, but i was getting instantly shut down. Couldnt get passed registration..

They all worked perfectly for me up until a couple days ago.

I do guess its possible.. But I figured if its rehashed, you'll atleast pass registration, and then get an email saying you were suspended due to linked accounts, or your account would just get deleted.

I wasn't even able to pass the registration.. I would do the phone verification, then confirm my account details, then I would get the errors (2) messages.. So, it seems as if they are detecting that the numbers are GVoice and Vumber.

Now, I dont know if or which virtual numbers or voip's you can buy that will work.. I was gonna try some this morning. But I figured before I spent $30 trying different websites to see if their numbers worked, Id just buy a prepaid phone for $9.99..

I just made an account using a new google voice number literally a week ago. Are you saying that this would not have worked had I tried just two days ago!? Can any others confirm please?? Thank you.

Yes, that is what I'm saying. I too made accounts a week ago today. But when I tried again on Friday, I kept getting the errors (2) message. Try it now and see if you get a better result. I'll even give you a vcc to use. Contact me with MSN or Skype, or some other means to communicate.

Yeah gvoice seems to still work for me as well.

I thought error2 was specific to linking to another account?

You would think that they would just give you an error regarding the phone number in general, not shutting down your process completely. I'm sure lots of innocent first timers are using their gvoice.. so a simple error2 on Amazon's part would be a strange way to deal with them not wanting virtual numbers anymore.

I do stand corrected.. I just used GVOice forwarded to my tracfone and it went through just fine.. Weird.. I dont know what was going on.. Maybe a glitch or error on AMazons part..
