VMware and Dongles
 

Hi

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me as it seems like such a simple question but ive searched the forums and not really found an answer yet.

I have two good stealth accounts up and running. I was at the time using home broadband and ethernet adaptors along with vmware. Everything is fine and dandy and so far the accounts are good. My only problem is our home internet went down and its an internal problem that will take weeks to fix and so i now want to use Dongles


It cant be as easy as buying two dongles and then plugging then in to each vmware account surely, i have this niggling feeling about the fact that i was using ethernet adaptors before to disguise my physical MAC address (as i also use the computer that i was originally banned on) and now i would be just plugging in a USB dongle straight in to the machine. i know each vmware machine has a MAC but is that enough?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I Just wanted to confirm that these are Amazon accounts that i am talking about and not EBAY which i know is a lot easier than Amazon

Any advise on this would be great as i have bought the book but it is very brief on USB internet dongles, if im just being a dippy girl then do let me know:pry:

As far as I know, using the dongles should not be a problem as they are 'unique'

I'm not too worried about the dongles, its just the MAC address of th laptop that concerns me, if amazon can read it then i'll be banned again, but if they only raad the dongle and vmware virtual mahine address then i should be ok.

Think i'll just have to test it and hold my breath...or buy new laptops. hmmm!

Anyways, I too have been looking for info on dongles...

Are you just going to use the one dongle with both amazons, or would you need a seperate dongle per account? Anyone have advice on this?

Are you using VMware player or virtualbox for your accounts?

I believe amazon will see the NAT address of either dongle, depends on the one you using of course ;) and your laptop as opposed to either of the virtual mahines your running.

But im not completely sure, it might see that of the virtual machine your using, each installation having its own mac address, with each dongle having its own, no problem.

But in either case, its better to be safe than sorry and it would be really easy to spoof your laptops mac, so why not have a different spoofed mac address for your laptop for each set of virtual machine/dongle you will be using!?

I'm using vmware for accounts and planning to spoof addresses. I just like the freedom of the laptop and the fact that if my ISP lets me down i can just use dongles.
I would probably use different dongles though, i know you can get a different IP from them but i'm sure you would still end up with a MAC number problem with the dongle.


now to plunge right in to figuring out how to spoof an address....can't be that hard eh!

Please excuse my Dongle ignorance... but if you purchase a dongle, do you then have to purchase another internet service, or can it run off your present internet you have??

A dongle is just a modem. You need to purchase the monthly service on top of it.
