unkown5454 09-25-2012 03:56 PM

Mobile or home?

SaiJin 09-25-2012 04:21 PM

I have a different carrier and today it's like that too.

This has happened 1-4 times a month.

rsot 09-26-2012 04:55 AM

This happening when resetting the modem?

EbanYtsa 09-26-2012 01:30 PM

mobile .

newjerseymax 09-26-2012 06:13 PM

It is not only verizon. I now own various devices because of IP's repeating more often...

Iphone 4S (ATT)
Android (ATT)
Verizon 4G mifi
T-Mobile 4G rocket
DataJack

I am again looking for another device... :typing:

That's inevitable for such systems.

There are 'limits' to the availability of numbers for IPs.

LoopHole 09-26-2012 11:23 PM

Verizon IP changing sucks.... i have it at home and sometimes its such a pain.... sometimes i change it 10-15 times within 20 minutes. Sometimes it get stuck on one IP and i cannot get rid of it for 2 hrs......

rsot 09-27-2012 05:42 AM

Rough to hear but you guys in the US have so many other options...economical too

Datajack is terrible in my area... Ill be lucky to even get online, much less be able to work....

T-Mobile speed is great! Its the lack of IP that is the problem.

We only have one broadband available in our area and no changing of IP :(

Now I have to log each IP according to user account and basically need to use the device and user account on whichever it decides to give me for the day.

Thinking of getting blackberry for tether....

the 2 biggest pains in my stealth life right now are IP's and USPS postal service (over 25 "lost" packages)....

oge 09-27-2012 09:50 AM

The problem is 4g ip's the speeds are faster but it's ip pool is small. I spent a lot of time testing and had to go with what works and that's old school 3G plenty of ip's.

MM78 09-27-2012 09:21 PM

Does Sprint have a Dongle?

unkown5454 09-27-2012 10:05 PM

Hahaha, I won't even answer that. 3rd largest carrier in the country...use your brain.

oge 09-27-2012 11:21 PM

Sprint owns Boost, Clear, & Virgin Mobile I would think they would have dongles.....

No, different carriers have separate IP allocations. It is under the Sprint umbrella, but a subnetwork.

The only reason I promote them is because they have some of the best deals available and they took a huge $15 billion hit when contracting the iPhone with Ap.ple. They've had some scary financial times and took some major risks. Most have paid off, but in my honest opinion, it is the over 30 prepaid carriers they have licensed spectrum to that allow them to survive against the duopoly known as Big Red (Verizon) and Big Blue (AT&T). I hate both of those companies because without regulation from the FCC, they would try and control all broadband activity in the USA.

I think it is time to use the search function. There are many topics that delve deep into the issues of MiFi boxes and dongles.

I have always regarded SPRINT as heads above the other players.:yar:

unkown5454 09-28-2012 07:24 PM

Yes, CEO Dan Hesse is a solid guy from all of the information I have read and his interviews. Ever since he took over the last CEO, Sprint has made major moves to get ahead. They have soared past T-Mobile. Not long ago, both companies were worth about the same price. Now they are double T-Mobile. Poor T-Mob rode the Sidekick and BlackBerry waves for too long and now they have nothing left, begging for someone to buy them out. Not even Deutsche Telekom, their owners, give a rats a*s about them. They have wanted to dispose of T-Mob USA for years...

Well damn. Seems like there's many options and still not enough good results :pout:

MM78 10-01-2012 10:59 PM

Time to go to Dialup, haha.

newjerseymax 11-06-2012 02:56 PM

I also added Virgin Mobile Mifi now to my collection and I am very happy with it so far. Fastest of all the devices so far....

Can you spoof the MAC on it?

guitarca18 11-17-2012 02:04 PM

Maybe it is your metro area. I'm in the SF Bay area. I use comcast to change ips with my business broadband using mac address spoofing through my linksys router. With the same mac address to my specific account I've had the same corresponding ip for months. Sometimes they do change. But I RARELY end up with a duplicate ip from a different corresponding amazon/ebay account mac address combo.

If I have to login mobile I use a verizon 4g LTE hotspot. I don't think I have ever received the same ip after a disconnect/connect from the software.

We track EVERYTHING so I'm pretty confident what I'm saying is true. I bet though in more rural or unpopulated areas your ip blocks are smaller.

sergfro 11-21-2012 02:18 PM

Sprint is awesome because of pricing. They are subpar on everything else. Been with them 10+ years, I just like to complain
