So I Got The Book & A Big Question Please
 

Ok so after it was pressed on me that I needed this book, which I will say is very much more in depth than the one we bought before, we went ahead and bought it. We used one of the offers (got my young daughter a nice computer game) and then were able to download the book. Although I had to disable Mcafee (not that I minded they are a joke and it says they are expired anyway) but regardless of being "expired" it kept deleting the download saying it was a Trojan virus....lol ok.

So I am now about 1/3 of the way through the book but I looked and it doesn't address the one question I need to know before I go through all the steps on my own computer, router etc.

Basically - we have internet through Charter, but I am under the impression that Charter supplier (in our apartment complex) is contracted through the larger Charter network. How our cable is "provided" with rent but it's actually just a contract the apts have with DirecTV, so we get crappy cable sucked off a satellite. Well it says we do not have a standard or dynamic or any other type of server we have a "proxy" server with Charter. So our internet provider is using the proxy server as it's not the "main" Charter. Does this make sense at all? I hope so - so my question is, does that affect anything with this process? Because it might mean that all our IP addresses are the same here in this complex.

Does anyone have any information on how internet providers who use "proxy servers" affect this method?

proxies can be spotted and i believe AZ against proxies since it is considered a mask to hide behind and if all of the ips are the same in the building you will need to look into getting your own internet.

Thanks Artaan - but I do have my own internet, it's just that it's contracted out. I don't know how to explain it better. Everyone has to order their own internet but I believe it's from like a franchise of Charter? Idk :-/ It worked fine on my regular account for 6 months until they suspended me.

how do you connect to your internet? do you have a modem in your apt?
go to whatismyipaddress com and click on Additional IP Details. There you will be able to fine the name of your provider and if your IP dynamic or static

Yes I have a modem and my own router and that's what happened when I went to what's my ip it said "you connect to the internet through a proxy server". That's kinda how I found out, but it hadn't affected my original account so I'm just wondering if it will affect going stealth?

proxy = bad = closer look from amazon or ban right from the start for seller accounts

I checked you Charter IP address at several different sites and none of them come up as a proxy.

I'll PM you the IP address I checked and you can let me know if it is in fact the one you are on.
