How to sell the same items and not get suspended?
 

Following stealth to the tee. Getting kicked off within a day because selling the same items. (About 100 items) I've even mixed different items with these same ones at about a 40% same items - 60% other items ratio but still get suspended within a day. How do I get around this? I really don't want to have to make 10-20 different accounts just to sell 5-10 items on each.

If you didn't know, I heard Amazon checks for a 53.5% match in inventory to all blocked accounts within the past 90 days

In other words, to come back on Amazon successfully with your same inventory after you have been banned is a very tricky process ... you'll need to do a bit more than mix the inventory 60/40 if you want any chance of avoiding Amazon's VERY INTELLIGENT detection process

what do they really check upc numbers, metadata from pictures

if upcs then, list them with different upcs that's easy

I agree 100% that you need to be very careful about listing your old inventory on a new account. You basically can't list your old inventory, you have to list new items, and slowly filter in your old inventory.

However, how do we know it's a 53.5% match? I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just curious to know how we arrived at that number.

Yes a good source would be order - otherwise just hearsay.

What about simply waiting more than 90 days?? That's not really that long, depending on your product (books, for example).

I usually put like 10-15 items above retail price and put it 1 item from my previous inventory.

You end up with a lot of items but if they sell you can always go to store and buy it and ship it or buy directly from amazon and dropship.

Okay that 53.5% was stated by one guy who made a blog post about it.. a while ago. Does Amazon change up their numbers? I'm sure. So we really can't rely on that being 53.5%. Further, the only way that guy's data could be correct, is if he actually worked for Amazon. I have spoken to enough reps to know that that is not information that anyone over the phone would ever even know. When I start a new account, I always keep it below 25% because I'm a paranoid fcuker :-) Also it's hard to say whether the 90 day thing is accurate either. Who's to say it isn't 180 days or 365, or no dropoff at all. Over time (beyond 90 or 180) I might feel safe approaching 40-50%. So rule of thumb for myself is, if I list on an old listing, I have to add 4 new ones, thus keeping me below 20%.

personally i don't believe in all this numbers, unlike ebay u can get anything and its regulated by security epartment, 7 rolling 14 rolling, suspension, deleting, review, u just need to avoid red flag which im pretty sure u getting after listing much staff/selling much staff on a new account without selling history/feedbacks
