T-mobile jet 2.0 prepaid stick gives me 4G 3mb/s 1.5Gb per month for 25$

Have u guys used it? stuck with the same ip, worry its not possible to have different ip's at all, is it static dongle?

Is it possible to downgrade and use it on 3G plan instead? I don't have this particular one but 4G seems to do that sometimes. I always use 3G.

Heard from few people that it works well -this gives dynamic IPs.

No, no my friend. You are totally confused on what that instruction is referring to. It means literally forcing the device to roam on another network like AT&T or another carrier while traveling internationally. In which case, not only would you pay insane roaming charges, but T-Mobile would have to actually have roaming agreements with said carrier in the area you happen to be in.

I use that. I disconnect for about 30min, then reconnect and it's a new IP. If you disconnect then reconnect right away it stays the same.

Exactly. hoff0165, this is a HUGE issue being overlooked by many people on this forum and not many ever listen. There are many devices out there and from my experience, the majority of personal hotspot/mifi/dongles devices actually, that will ALWAYS retain the last IP if you simply turn airplane mode off/on or power the device off/on within a few seconds or even minutes.

Even my best MiFi device that I have used for almost 2 years and has the widest IP range I have ever seen will still retain the last IP used if I simply power cycle rapidly.

So what solution are you proposing? I am actually suggesting a solution here. This does not mean I am a "totally confused" as you say. Anyways what suggestions do you actually have that may help? Sorry but you kinda sound like Mit Romney, ever critical never resolving.

If you insist on T-Mobile, try and tether a 3G only device. Otherwise, do a search and you will find dozens of posts discussing these topics already that will point you in the proper direction. Sorry I cannot teach you one on one. I am simply letting you know that what you propose is not possible or a solution.

BTW, for future reference, T-Mobile is one of the worst networks for IP range.

used tmobile cellphone 3g tethering, right, range is worst can be and sometimes had to wait for a while for a new ip, just tested this morning 4g dongle and it is dynamic, great

what makes u think u cannot succeed?

I'm sure it will work as it is a new device, I just wasn't sure if the IP on that changes, what's the range, is it suitable for creating many accounts or is it good for just one ghost account? From reading around here it sounds like certain mi-fi devices and providers work better than others...

The 2200 from Virgin works great. I use the Sierra Wireless box on Sprint because it did not show up on Virgin Mobile until recently. For Sprint, it works incredibly well. Virgin should be the same, but there is no guarantee until tested.

use my new iphone 5 to do this, turn airplane mode on and off 2x and i check it before/after every new ip to make sure its changed. Done it 50 times and ip has changed every time
