Amazon Shut me down in 3 hrs

I just opened a new Amazon account and they shut me down in 3 hours. I used a vmware workstation, new corporate name, new address, new phone#, New bank account. All totally new info and a new IP provided by a vpn service. I think I listed to aggressively to quick. I listed 8 products, with 10 of each available, and I made sure I was the cheapest price.
What do you think? Was that my mistake? Or, is there some measure that amazon is taking now that I am not aware of.
Thank you.

Your problem is in red

Hmm. Good to know. Do you think that is worse that the aggressive listing? What else do you think may have caused it? Thanks.

For my next attempt, all of the accout info has been established outside of my area. Would you recomend dial up, or perhaps a VPS?
Thanks.

Dial-up is best. Also, I hear VPS is OK

rsot 03-08-2013 04:24 PM

Really sounds like the VPN service knocked you out.

cheapandeasy 03-08-2013 04:46 PM

Thank you guys. Looking into VPS services now. Thanks.

kockedoff 03-08-2013 04:54 PM

How about connecting thru your iPhone or any other smartphone, use it as a hotspot that should be safe too right ?

cheapandeasy 03-08-2013 05:21 PM

I think in my case, no. I am not in the same state as the account info that is prepared for my next Amazon account. Otherwise, yes, right? Obviously I am still new to this.

Thinking about going back to my old school methold

IronManWU 03-09-2013 07:12 PM

Try using your phone or a dongle. I dont think VPN service works for Amazon. i have had success with a dongle

Speeder33 03-10-2013 03:10 AM

Amazon is much more into tracking than ebay, but I found that dongle works fine, but if you sell vero be ready to be deleted

rsot 03-10-2013 07:40 AM

Phone tethering can also work well

VPN works for me, but VPS is a better option.

Yea, I'm thinking dial up might be the ticket. I can at least use a phone # near where my account info is and get an IP in that vicinity. I'm thinking a dongle or the tethering method would reveal my actual location which is hundreds of miles from where my amazon account info will say I am. Comments?

cheapandeasy 03-13-2013 03:35 PM

Or VPS...?

Re: Amazon Shut me down in 3 hrs

I just had my Amazon UK account go down after a few days, "my selling privileges have been removed", didn't even go under review. Was using VPN but this wasn't the reason, as I have another new account working fine. I was also well under the estimated "velocity limit" Perhaps the items I was selling were too high risk.

Speeder33 03-14-2013 02:38 AM

Almost anything you can sell easily on amazon is high risk, just take it very slow the first 2 months at least

But rsot, I thought that VM Workstation is supposed to be very effective? I'm trying to figure this out for myself right now.

Does dongle IP work the same way as dial-up, in the sense that you get a new, fresh, untraceable IP every time you disconnect and then reconnect? Thx Thx!

Make sure you change mac address as well if use same laptop and vmware

a.v.limited 04-10-2013 05:45 AM

Dongles are way forward if you ask me

Many people here say you don not need to change the mac unless it is necessary to get a new IP

I use Vmware and only change the IP and have had 3 accounts running for a couple of months now.

After reading many posts I am convinced you do not have to change the mac

Reread the OP post...

: I made sure I was the cheapest price.
That would also be an account ender.

I think that depends on the item and how low you go and whether or not you are undercutting Amazon. I have three accounts and on all of them I do mostly FBA and I always have close to the lowest if not the lowest price.

So you are saying that every seller that has the lowest price on amazon is going to have their account 'ended'?????

That's scary

:juggle:

rsot 04-18-2013 12:15 PM

While the OP did not give detail about what he is selling...a new account with the lowest price...no feedback and an item that "could" be perceived as "bootleggable" would be an account ender. Now I'm not saying OP IS selling high-risk items but if even a possibility...yes, lowest price is not seen as a good move in AZ's eyes from the get go.

Phd 06-03-2013 10:19 AM

If you make yourself look like a brick and mortar store that just joined the AZ world to make a couple of extra sales, then you may be able to stay under the radar. This goes back to AZ start days as that is what AZ was used for originally. Yes, many sell 1000's a day, but that takes years to develop (in a normal non-stealth world). Remember the book "slow and easy wins the race".

...and ditch the VPN....
