Amazon requires that you provide your tax identification information

I got this alert on one of my account
Quote:

Amazon requires that you provide your tax identification information. To provide the required information, please click here to start the self-service tax interview. Learn more
This account only sold 24 items for total around $1,500.

Will they suspend me for not provide tax information?

Providing Your Taxpayer Identification Information to Amazon

As a result of these and other upcoming regulations, the following sellers are required by Amazon to provide taxpayer identification information to Amazon:

All Professional sellers
Individual sellers that exceed 50 transactions in a calendar year, regardless of sales volume
I'm only at 24 items

Thank you

IronManWU 03-13-2013 03:31 PM

they'll suspend you eventually

TonyAlmeida 03-13-2013 03:33 PM

That suck :(

IronManWU 03-13-2013 03:48 PM

yeah but its the only way. And it's not a big deal anyway really, EINs are easy to obtain and avoiding the IRS is impossible

Artann 03-13-2013 04:59 PM

I second that, they will block your account if you won't provide the ID.

kenshintr 03-13-2013 06:08 PM

Just sign up for EIN. Simple.

hapajenn1 03-13-2013 09:24 PM

Does the real name associated with the EIN have to be submitted to amaz0 n? If this real name is a previously banned person, (e.g. you are Josh Jop and already suspended before) -- then will this trigger a suspension again?

with an LLC or corp you dont have to put in the real name but for a DBA i think you do.

I've been wondering how you go about this if you have a DBA that's owned by an LLC?

TonyAlmeida 03-21-2013 03:23 PM

Login today and that alert is gone. Don't know what happen but I'm happy now

You need to be an authorized employee or officer of the LLC
