New UK Account, A Few Questions...

Hi,

Just bought and read the amazon guide, thanks.

I have a couple of questions.
If I register a new company with the same two directors as our last banned company would this be an issue?

Can I then just get a pre-paid credit card in the name of Joe Blogs and use that to register the account?

Will I be able to list the new companies bank account for withdrawal without issues or will they ask for names of the directors or such?

I've used my iPhone with my banned account. If I don't log in to the account on my iPhone but use the email client to reply to emails from Amazon/customers will the account get blocked?
If I buy a new cable router and use an old laptop that's never even logged in to Amazon before that would protect me right. What then happens if I use my current laptop that's been blacklisted on the same home network?
I might have a few more questions but that'll do for now! What I'm going to to do today is register a new company at a new (unrelated address), is there anything I should consider before doing so?

:-)

I'd be keen to see the replies to this thread as this is a direction i'm considering..

Thanks. I really want to get it 100% right as this is a long-term business venture that I'm working on. We already have a good turnover on other platforms but managed to get banned from Amazon within a couple of days (due to one bad review, the have 100% feedback on eBay and every other platform... sods law hay?!?).

We're prepared to invest time and money in getting it right.

1. I would not see this as an issue since the COMPANY is the name you are working with - lot of people have similar names, you would use a new address.

2. You can use a prepaid cc - you should REGISTER that card to your Amazon address.

3. You can use that bank account without problems if it will accept deposits from Amazon

4. DONT use the iPhone until you are sure it is clean and new for Amazon - read more posts, see what people say about iPhone and such.

5. New cable modem is good - a computer fresh to Amazon is also good - the old computer on the network should not cause you problem but do NOT log into Amazon or your old accounts from that computer - to be safe, I would keep the old computer on its own IP.

Thanks for that. Can you just clarify the things below. You're helping put an old mans mind at rest!

Ok, I will go ahead and register the company in mine and my business partners name at an unrelated address

Perfect, I'll register a card at the same address in the name of Joe Bloggs

I'll be a std UK business account so that's should be fine
4. DONT use the iPhone until you are sure it is clean and new for Amazon - read more posts, see what people say about iPhone and such.
Even for emails? I wouldn't use it to log in...

So if I just delete all the cookies and don't sign in to any account on my network again it should be fine?

WOAH!!! Not for companies in the UK you would not consider this. Anyone could go to the Companies House and see the names.

Has anyone had first hand experience of this?

Amazon might not do a company search to check the names of Directors. I am selling through several different companies all with myself as a Director.

Just buy a new pc and work with a 3g dongle,

and there is no need to register a UK pre paid gift card, you can use any name and address on amazon against the card

I thought the card had to match the address on Amazon? That's why I've always used 3V cards.

Very interesting. So I can just use my regular (new) business account at a new address with any name? They won't match it up to a card with a different (my) name on?

Interesting!

To be safe I wouldnt use the iPhone even just to read notifications. It's not hard to let the iPhone go - or get another device to check.

Ed 04-23-2013 04:14 PM

I'd rather not have to carry around around two devices or let my seller metrics suffer because I wasn't able to respond in good time. Might get a £120 warranty replacement iPhone from Apple. That way I can use it as a hot spot for my new laptop as well. Kill more than two birds with one stone maybe.
