| Kelly441 | 05-02-2013 03:29 PM | Variation of name on Bank account Let's say for example that the name and bank account name on my suspended account was Harold Smith. If I create a stealth account with everything different and not selling any of the same items can I just drop a letter in the first name? Say Harol Smith. Is this enough for Amazon not to link the names and most importantly is it enough for it not to raise a red flag with the bank if it is a large deposit of over $5000? |
| JamesNorth101 | 05-02-2013 03:35 PM | I would think so long as DOB, Address, Bank Details, Email Address, IP Address ect are all different then you would be fine. There will no doubt be a number of Harol Smiths in the US and they cannot just ban/link everyone with the same or similar names if all the other information is different. |
| Kelly441 | 05-02-2013 04:48 PM | Thanks, well the real name is not as common as that. I would think the computer is looking for exact matches. Unless they have another reason to put your account under scrutiny I would think it would be OK.
What about the bank? Would they see it was a simple mistake and not inquire? |
| JamesNorth101 | 05-02-2013 05:58 PM | It will differ from bank to bank. In the UK I know some of our banks have no issue with mismatching names, where as others do. Have a look on the forum to see if any issues have come up with mismatching names and the bank you want to use.
There is also a thread about somewhere that I have recently ready about an American who did have her bank account locked because of a mismatching name, and the advise given to her may well help you if that situation happens to arise in your account. Unfortunately I cannot find the thread, but the advise was along the lines of create a business with the mismatching name as the name of the business and show the bank that as proof that your trading under that business name, thus explaining the mismatch in names. Someone else may be able to give you more details with regards to that. |

However, I wonder if they see when you formed it and if you do it after the fact.
About the name on the bank account. I wasn't talking about a complete mismatched names, I was saying just dropping or adding a letter from the first name. Even the banks that take completely different mismatched names will flag a deposit over $5000 for a complete mismatch. However, I think if one letter is off that it will still trigger a red flag, but when the banker reviews it they are likely to not raise a fuss. |
| Speeder33 | 05-06-2013 05:49 PM | the key is to go into a bank when you make accts and make up a story of why you need so many accts/why there are different names. Get friendly with the teller, very friendly, when corporate calls to see whats up with your acct they call whomever opened the acct |

You will need to vary your sales pattern and your browser use (see threads on browser fingerprinting).
As for the large deposit of $5000 - banks tend to be different...many banks have no problems with this if 1) you do NOT drain the account - act like a regular person would - leave some money - banks love having money 2) dont have intense repeat deposits of $5000.
Personal experience from Amazon: back when one account was secure, had a deposit of 8k into a new bank account - completely different name - bank had no issues - left a few k in there - also helped to avoid the monthly fees... | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:11 PM. | |
