Does AZ track the tracking number?

Was wondering if AZ would have a record of our Canada Post account number, since it is the first 7 #s of the inputted tracking number into all AZ orders on dot ca, and AZ uses the Post system for their own orders and FF.

I think you're fine Phd. But just to be sure, can you be a little more specific? ie do you use shipping software, if so then what, and do you mean that when specifically YOU get your tracking numbers, the first 7 digits are always the same?

Running Canada Post software, make the label and Canada Post gives you the expedited tracking #. So this particular # would be 1234567ABCDEF and 1234567 is always your customer number with CP. The 1234567 never changes in the tracking number supplied by the CP software.

I know AZ also uses CP, not sure if they know this is available.

It is worth noting for the future but I doubt (right now) that this causes problems - if in doubt, it isnt so hard to request CP to change your account number for "secutiy updates to your software"

It was more curious than anything as I couldn't find any posts about it.

One of the rules of Stealth----When in doubt, change out :heh:

Thanks, maybe an employee might have found out the account and password and we need a new one :nerd:

I feel the same way as rsot, I doubt it is problem right now. Still, it would bug the hell out of me. Most shipping software/companies do NOT do this.. so Amazon would have been wasting time trying to use this as a method is my guess. BUT, I would take this opportunity to check out Endicia. I know they have it for .CA as well. Their rates are really good and you might be better off with them anyway.

Really used to the CP way. Like the daily pickup and the volume discounts (was getting a 50% discount before the boot). Software is very easy to use with price and time features for each shipment. May just contact our rep for a new number.
Thanks

I agree with that concept - if in doubt, change it out - keeping stealth in all respects doesnt hurt.
