Starting new amazon accounts:User accounts vs VMware player Which is better, both for the 1st ghost account, and for multiple accounts moving forward.
Concerned because we use 2 computers in office and 1 at home.
Also going to be using the same ISP with new routers, 2 new computers, and 1 reformatted computer.
Thanks |
Browser fingerprint with user accounts and VMware Do we need to clean our browser before switching accounts?
Also, with a reformat and/or new computer, do we need to adjust the browser as outlined on pages 9 and 10 (fonts, headers, add ons, etc)?
Thanks |

Kelly441 | 09-17-2013 10:16 PM | Re: Starting new amazon accounts:User accounts vs VMware player I have five healthy accounts the last 6 months running VMware |
Change MAC between accts? Do you normally change your computer MAC address when switching between accounts on same computer with either VMware or user accounts?
Or is this now 'old school, tin hat' territory?
Thanks |
quantum773 | 09-18-2013 09:07 AM | Re: Starting new amazon accounts:User accounts vs VMware player 5 accounts also with VMware. Changing MAC ID may not be necessary for you. The only reason I change my MAC ID is to change my IP address. If you have a way to change your IP, changing your MAC on each VMware isn't necessary. |

Kelly441 | 09-18-2013 11:33 AM | Re: Starting new amazon accounts:User accounts vs VMware player Same user name. Vmware hides form the OS on the computer you are using. I have Windows 7 on the computer but use different OS for VMware. The Vmware user id's are different though. I don't worry about browser fingerprinting. All my Vmware instances are identical OS, browser and fonts. Maybe it will catch up to me at some point, we will see |
Re: Starting new amazon accounts:User accounts vs VMware player Ah wow ok Kelly, I would be still tempted to use different user accounts |
Kelly441 | 09-18-2013 12:06 PM | Re: Starting new amazon accounts:User accounts vs VMware player As I said, Vmware OS is completely hidden from the OS and User Name on the computer I use to run the 5 different Vmware instances so the User Name on the computer is irrelevant. |

Yep, time warner if you're curious. | Same ISP and IP range for all 5 accounts could be risky no ? |

(Similar to atomic browser)
Is it not installed on windows 7 but on free space on your drive as its own operating system ?
Could someone please tell me if this is the correct link for VMware and is it the WORKSTATION that I need to download. https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/inf...rkstation/10_0
Thanks |
TonyAlmeida | 09-19-2013 07:38 AM | Re: Starting new amazon accounts:User accounts vs VMware player WMware software can be install inside your OS (Windows XP, Vista, 7....) and you can pick the OS for the VMware you want to run (Lunix, Windows, Mac....)
You can set a separate folder for all your VMware images but the VMware have to be install to your OS
If the link said workstation then you can download and use that |

Different ISPs to spread the chance of being linked works for me.
Certain steps to make each account look completely different got done when each account was made too.
True stealth is nothing linking.
Same ISP for 5 accounts pushes my boundaries.
Not worth the risk.

So if I have ONLY XP installed, can I pick Linux as the OS for the VMWare or do I also need to have Linux installed on a partition of the hard drive ?
Will whatever OS I pick for VMWare be shown to the outside world ?
If this is the case then it would be good to pick a different OS for each VM to mix it up right ? | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:44 AM. | |
