Did my Amazon account get linked?
 

Hello,

I am currently running an Amazon Stealth account from my house. I use wireless router in my house, so any one in my house can get wireless internet or WiFi for the phone. Over the weekend, my friends came to my house for a visit (They live out of state). One of my friend has a few years old Amazon account under his name and he occasionally buys and sells products from Amazon.

I have reminded him a few times NOT to log in to his account while he stays over in my house because I know that Amazon do not allow multiple accounts on one IP address.

Of course, my dumb friend, ended up browsing on Amazon with his Amazon apps on his phone. I see that on top right corner, I see his name, on the sign in page and hello (his name). He did not log in with the password to get further into his account. Without logging into his account, I can only access his order history for his purchases, but I cannot change any setting from his Amazon App.

My questions is that is my account safe because he did not put his password? Or do you think my stealth account is already linked to his account? Do you think I should change my IP address to be safe or is it too late?

I cannot say if it WILL cause a problem, but if it does, it is already too late. Many people have multiple Amazon accounts on the same IP address - just not STEALTH accounts.

The real issue is, if one of the accounts goes down, the other could easily go down as well.

If the accounts are not selling anything risky and have no problems, there is a much lower chance of Amazon banning them. If either one is selling high-risk items, or has a bad "Order Defect Rate" or a low "Account Health" rating, then it is more likely to cause a problem.

I don't think the password matters either way, since Amazon seems to know who he was from his cookies.

Thank you for your reply. My friends account is in good standing. He does not sell too much/risky products from his account. Hopefully both accounts will hold up.

Could have been linked but Amazon is quick on suspensions if seen as dangerous. Only time will tell but if both accounts are still alive, do not repeat.

Lock anyone but yourself out of access to the computer.

Simple to do.

Saves big worries.

Lock it quickly.

Thank you for the replies guys. I usually have security pass code for the internet so no one outside cannot get access to the internet. It is just my dumb friend used his phone to access his account. I gave him a big lecture why he should not log in to his account in my house again. He's account is very safe, he does not do anything suspicious or dangerous. Hoping for the best.

Should be fine now if your accounts are still alive - lock this guy out OR get another network for personal use only.

was your friend using your WIFI connection or data on his phone?
