Amazon requesting ID from the start
 

I see now that Amazon Europe are requiring bank verification deposits and also Passport/ID numbers.

This relates to Amazon Germany and Amazon France, have not had it with UK or USA.

Has anyone had experience with entering information, would a made up passport number work?

They are saying they may at some point require a copy of a utility bill.

Unlike eBay i like to use business information on amazon

Havent experience this in USA as of yet

First of all they are doing bank deposits like Paypal now.

Secondly there's a drop down box asking for ID, you can choose from Passport Driver's Licence, National Identity Card etc.

I choose passport initiall, and you have to fill in all the details on your passport, I don't think they can check these details with anyone, but they're trying to make you slip up because you must enter your passport details in a certain way, there's a wiki page that helps with this.

I then decided to try driver's license instead, you don't need to enter anything, but it says it will take up to 5 working days for them to process your application.

There is also a check box where it says something like "You agree to supply a utility bill at some point in future should we require it"

Waiting to hear back now whether my application was successful.

Should have filled out all information BEFORE I added bank account, silly boy I am!

Kind of heading in a direction that is not in the best interest for recommendations on this forum sax4...could lead to potential misuse by other people and we all know what happens when certain steps are abused and destroyed by people not in the know of these matters...
