| samiyoda | 04-09-2014 10:37 PM | Questions about setting up new account. Hello,
So I was banned today for my order defect rate going above 1%. I have been trying to be the best seller that I could possibly be, however, customers will be customers and give you negative feedback or an A-Z claim on stuff instead of emailing you about a problem first.
I am now wondering about several things about setting up a new account.
So I understand that I have to use a completely different computer, have a different MAC address, and a different internet provider. (my friend is letting me use his computer and I have never gone on my old account with it so it is a clean slate).
I also understand that I need to set up a new bank account, link my new amazon account to a pre-paid card so that they do not look into the name of new bank account and get an EIN.
However, I wondering about city and destination. My friend and me live in the same town. Relatively Close to the address that was registered with my old account, will they link me because of that?
Also how long should I wait to list my inventory on my old account?
Any answers would be great, Thank you guys once again. |

Same city is not a good idea. |
| eBay King | 04-10-2014 09:09 PM | Re: Questions about setting up new account. Also, if you list the same exact inventory again on the new account, this may be a link. Maybe best to mix it up a bit. Good luck, I know the feeling... |

Same city is not a good idea. | What do you mean by the location is too close?
If we set up stealth accounts, the accounts are still in close proximity to the suspended account.
For example, I am moving premises this month to a new office, I am going to use the new address to get back on eBay and Amazon.com
But is this new address too close to my old address? It is only 3 streets away.
If so, how long should I wait before opening a new stealth account?
How can we get around this?
Regards |
Re: Questions about setting up new account. Proximity would be a LIKELY issue IF you are selling same products. If you change your model, you could operate well.
There is no delay in opening a new stealth account but be clean and NEW in the eyes of Amazon |

So say we open a new stealth account and sold different items, would it be possible to slowly introduce our old items also after so many months of operation or would that still be a possible link? |

What is your definition of 'slowly'? | What I was thinking was 2-3 products in week one, 10 uploads in week 2, 100 bulk uploaded in week 3, 1000 uploaded in week 4, then a couple thousand each week after that until we are selling everything again.
What's your thoughts? |

If you change the SKU thats OK, but the EAN is the identifier of that product. If you don't use the correct EAN you will not list the correct goods. Anyway thats the way I see it. |

What's your thoughts? | That isn't that slow at all - by week 4 you are aiming for 1000...maybe by week 8 instead |

Amazon has ASIN, one unique identifier for each product listing on their site. Some products are accidentally listed more than once and have several ASINs. Is ASIN what you meant? |

Basically, I buy my EAN's from GS1.org.uk (recommended by Amazon).
As my goods do not come with a manufacturer barcode, I need to give Amazon the barcode (EAN) for my items.
When I started, I simply bought 500,000 codes from GS1 and randomly placed each item with a barcode.
I do have loads left to use, but I won't be using these ones and will just buy another 500,000 under a different company name.
For example, if you do a random search on Amazon, let's say 'water powered clock' have a look to see how many of the same product are listed so many different times, all are the same product, but just different EAN's and therefore ASIN's. I found 9 of the same product on the front page with different ASIN's because they were listed with different EAN's.
So I think, if I change the first word in each of my product titles, a few words in the descriptions, the EAN (barcode), SKU, that'll in turn create a new listing on Amazon, which I think will allow me to sell the same items on a new account.
What do you guys think? |
